If the wind is that bad you're better off removing the cover, it just acts as a wind sail. If it doesn't blow off into the night along with peoples sheds and trampolines then it'll either destroy itself or go over with the bike ____________________ KTM 990 SMT & Suzuki DR-Z 400 SM |

I was a bit worried about this happening last night, when the winds picked up. Hubby and I share the same Y-anchor, so the bikes are close together. I made him swap positions with me, so that his tank of a V-strom didn’t squash my YBR if it went over. Took the added precaution of using a dog lead to attach the wheelie bins to the fence too, as I was worried about them cannoning into the bikes.
New bikers, new bikes and first winter is a stressful time. |

My bikes have never blown over with a cover on, but then again one was 210kg. So far my lighter SV hasn't blown over either. You get lucky I guess. ____________________ I want your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle.

Oh yeah.
My CB250RS, 30+ years ago, and I was actually sitting on the bloody thing at the time!
I'd ridden into Uni on a really windy morning, and on the campus I had to pass as usual down a roadway between two buildings which due to some design flaw always caught the wind like crazy, and amplified it. As I entered the gap I thought, nah, better not, and came to a stop in order to turn round. Just at that moment there was an almighty gust, and despite both feet flat on the floor I just couldn't hold it up, and in glorious slow motion 'SH-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-T', over I went, much to the mirth of all the other students heading into lectures on foot. ____________________ KC100->CB100N->CB250RS--------->DL650AL2->R1200RS->R1250RS |

my fz6 has been taken over twice by the wind, if it's forcast to be mega windy i just leave the cover off as the cover it what took it over both times. Got up in the morning and it was lieing down having a nice bath in a massive puddle ____________________ Current: Honda City Fly CLR125 2003 Honda CB600F Hornet 2008 Yamaha FZ6 S2 + 1991 Kawasaki GPZ500

Shit, my new bike would have just gone over if it wasn't for the chain through the swingarm/ground anchor holding it up.
I only installed that ground anchor 10 days ago, that's a bit of luck! ____________________ If you can keep your head when all about you

I must be lucky, winds were battering my bike here last night and it didn't go over even with a cover on. I suppose one day my luck will run out though. ____________________ I want your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle.
