Okay that sounds like the start of a joke, but it isn't Laughing

I'm looking to get some sort of communication system so that me and my mate can go on a long ride somewhere but still be able to talk to each other, seen plenty of YT videos doing this but can't find any decent systems..

Have you guys got any recommendations please? Only need a set of 2., and for them to communicate both ways.

Thanks in Advance.

popular option is sena 20s, they also come in a dual pack, not cheap though, but you get what you pay for

No with the Sena 20s you don't. I'd go for an older model. 20s isn't even rated for weather.

Why if you're a lone rider?

I think you need to change your handle.

Scala rider? I've had a few of those over the years and the later ones could be paired with any device (satnav, phone, mp3 etc.), with 2 or more sets for communication and had radios built in.

I have one with my TomTom rider that is 5 years old and still has an unbelievable battery life.

Again, not cheap.

I've used a Sena SMH10-11 [daily - all weathers] for a year and a half - overall I'm pleased with it, although the microphone failed after about 8 months of use (it became really quiet - people struggled to hear what I was saying) - the replacement microphone has been fine ever since though.
The module itself has been rock-solid, it connects to my phone without fail and works brilliantly with Google Voice.

Interphone do a variety of models - the "tour twin" pack is probably your best bet with 2 of everything and extended battery life for touring.

I don't own the 20s, but I know a few people who do who've never had any issues used through all weather conditions.

My understanding was that all sena gear was water/dust resistant IP rated, however you're right these don't seem to actually say it anywhere.

Looking around it seems like some people have had issues whilst others have been fine, it does just make me wonder if they are sealing the rubber connection covers properly or just being idiots.

I'll be shopping around soon and will probably look at a few other options

You could consider a pair of Viper bluetooth built in helmets.

I use Sena SMH5's for bike to bike comms, works pretty well until you go out of range.

Also use it to listen to music and take the odd phone call. Wouldn't be without it now.

FYI these work really well

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-800M-BT-Motocycle-Helmet-Bluetooth-Interphone-TCOM-VB-Intercom-Soft-cable-/231930284202?hash=item36001f48aa:g:4vgAAOSwFEFXJBWQ

they've since updated the model and can be had for cheaper but i've not tried the new ones. Audio quality is really good, me and SophRsogood use them. Thumbs Up

I own one, it it gets too much weather it just turns itself off. Voice recognition doesn't seem to understand me at all so I'm forced to use the key/dial presses to get it to work.

The FM Radio has the worst reception known to man.

If I had my time again I would not select it.

This has lived on the side of my lid in all weathers, still works - have charged it about twice.

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BT-Bluetooth-Headset-Motorcycle-Helmet-Motorbike-Intercom-Headset-500M-UK-Plug-/351672333300

It was bought in haste from Aldi about 9mths ago, for relaying satnav direction from a smartphone. I've used it to make the odd call, quality is good. Music sounds good too.

However I can't vouch for the bike to bike, as nobody has a similar unit to test with Sad

Sorry, I just had to do it, like hearing Shave and a haircut without the two bits.

Useless nugget : I won £5 for singing the intro at a bike rally many moons ago.

You should point out that longer cylindrical tins are best.
The odd shaped Spam/Corned Beef tins are really poor, as are the small tins (mini baked bean tins etc).
Oh, and remember to keep the string taut !
