are these cheaper wrenchs upto the job with motorbikes/scooters i.e variartor etc

Well, first off I thought it was broken as it doesn't have the continuous hits that a 24v battery or air wrench does - instead it spins up a flywheel and a clutch engages to deliver the specified torque.

Did fine with a friend's ZX10R front sprocket nut at a trackday.

I used a very similar one to remove the towbar on my car. The bolts were torqued up to 240NM.

No dramas. Thumbs Up

Even the lightest on here with a breaker bar will be able to apply torque than these - it's to undo things that will spin with a steadily applied torque.

Well i bit the bullet tried finding any like minded friends , with the majority going what the hell is a impact wrench , majority had torque wrenches.
So bought a Clarke 12v jobby from Amazon paid £35.99
But over the normal price at other outlets but I have to say the customer service at Amazon is second to none.
If it's tripe they have no qualms returning unlike other retailers.
Will update how I get on first time working on a scooter.
Hopefully the wrench will be a good buy .

Cheers G it can always go back and I'll probs buy an half decent on , just didn't want to spend a small fortune.
It's only to get a variator off to replace belt so hopefully shouldn't need much but will also try on my Chevrolet ,see if it can handle it

I've been using a trusty Snap-On 1/2 Gun for about 4 years now.
I bought the gun second hand for £100.
I've just sent it off to Snap-On for a refurb @ £80+VAT. It'll come back brand new.

So over 4 years, it's cost me £200, for an epic bit of kit. Will undo anything I need it to, and it's wireless. Very Happy
