"An honest mistake", he whinged, and he's "taken immediate steps to update [his] insurance cover". Well, I'm certain he'll have mentioned the pending conviction for driving without insurance during that conversation.

Scotch Tories are OK with it: "Anyone could have found themselves in this situation".

I'd feel very free to quote all of that in mitigation should you find yourself making a similar "mistake".

Oh, and...

So reading between the lines, the transport minister was a named driver on his wife's policy, with no policy of his own?
I wonder who racked up the most miles in 'her' car?

Now I'm not suggesting he was defrauding her insurers by pretending to be a named driver when he was in fact the main driver, I'm merely suggesting that the suggestion could in principle be suggested by some hitherto unknown future suggestee.

Anyone care to tell us what this has to do with Whisky?

It's effectively the same as me saying "well I got distracted, because I was horny and there was minge about - but if I hadn't have gotten distracted I would totes have taken out that policy I was otherwise meaning to have taken out, and therefore this would have been totes legit. So it's the bird's fault - soz'".

Well that's cleared that up then.
