I'm seeing more and more of these around

https://www.jackets.co.in/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Parka-Jacket-Men-Black.jpeg

and every time I do I have an uncontrollable urge to just point and shout thousand pound coat repeatedly.

For a coat - yes. For that coat - no.

With that said, it'd have to be a pretty damn special coat for that sort of cash.

I know people obviously pay upwards of £1000 on motorcycle jackets, but generally not parkas Confused

Their marketing department must be laughing.

It's ridiculous how popular these are.

I wanted a Patagonia jacket, but couldn't bring myself to paying £180 for it, so no, I wouldn't pay a grand for it.

I wouldn't spend a quid on it unless with a view to resale. Labels are prole feed.

I would spend 950 (or perhaps 5-700) on a coat that lasted me a lifetime and looked like new in 50 years. I don't think such a thing exists. When I get fat it won't fit any more either. hm.

The overcoat I spent 100 quid on ~5 years ago is holding up fairly well, but nothing is going to stay shiny forever unless your life is made up of going from taxi to dinner.

They're supposedly very good coats, believe they were used in some artic exploration, but you could easily find something just as good for much less

Their methods of obtaining the coyote fur they use are also questionable. I see a lot of women wearing these and wonder if they realise the pain and suffering those animals went through sitting in those traps.

More money than sense

I'm sure that I saw these on a TV program the other day. It was about fake items and there are plenty of fake Canada Goose coats on sale.

I suppose its better than SuperdryJPN or whatever the fuck that is, everybody and his dog were wearing until recently. That just looked shoddy.

Although to be honest, when I first saw this thread title, I immediately thought of GREY Goose, and not Canada Goose, and wondered why you would pay £900 to have a bottle of vodka advertised on your jacket.

I can't say I've ever noticed one.

Sounds like those horrific Ugg boots that were insanely popular and cost £200 a pair.

To be fair the Superdry wind cheater jackets are good for what they are and not massively expensive.

Far too expenses for what you get, I`ve got a Helly Hansen Parker which is just as good and has the same extreme cold weather spec apart from the coyote fur on the hood for more than half the price of a Canada goose jacket. Keeps me warm when it gets down to -58c here.

I don`t see the point of trapping its cruel and with coyotes unnecessary, they are a major pest with a out of control population were l live in Canada and we are always shooting loads of them each year.

For £900 I could clothe myself for the rest of my life. And have change.

OP, don't you live in England where temperatures very rarely go below 5°C and snow is just as rare as the number of sunny days in the UK per year? Thinking

I'm not saying let's be too rational here, but let's just think about it, at least.

Hahahaha.

No.

I am currently living in the coldest capital city in the world, Astana, where the temperature gets down to minus 40 fairly regularly.

My coat cost 30 quid, probably off the back of a truck. Warm as fuck.

What the hell is wrong with people.

That said, lots of people here are walking round in $2000 fur coats. I was hat shopping yesterday, as you do, and found a hat for $2000 that looked and felt absolutely identical to ones I'd seen for 150 quid.

And I just got one made of polyster for a tenner, because fuck those herds of wild esters roaming the wilderness, taking our jobs.
