Any ideas as to where I could get some half decent kit cheap? Helmets aren't a problem, seen them for around 60 quid. Got gloves that will fit her already. Just need jacket, jeans and boots.

I've seen alot of posts on here about good kit from as little as £50. I'd hold out longer so I can get more practice and keep the bike to myself but seeing as kit is a bit cheaper at the moment it's probably best to get it now.

Thanks in advance,
Rick.

Saw some one piece leathers yesterday for £125. Think they were RST. Was tempted to get them for myself, the jacket i'm buying is £100 on it's own, £25 extra for a weekend fun set of leathers seems alright.

Not really practical for if we go to the cinema though or anything like that. Will take her when we can get there.

Rick.

Here's a guide from an earlier Ride magazine that may help her.

The scottish bike show is on shortly up at Edinburgh, loads of cheap kit there (last years styles and such).

The ultimate cheapness can be found at any of the BMF shows.

Otherwise, Hein Gericke is one of the best value retail chains and their kit is very good too.

Rule of thumb: If you wouldn't wear it, why should she!

Make sure what you get is the best you can afford, not some cheap old shit that isn't up to the job.

Me and the woman went shopping on saturday to get her a lid for going pillion. None of them fitted her at all. Her head is tiny! All the XS sizes were even too big. The XS fit around the top of her head but no matter what lid we tried, the cheek pads were barely pressing her face. Will probably hold off for the Scottish bike show now before getting her gear.

A suggestion would be to try Dainese Helmets, they are more expensive, but I found them to be slightly smaller fitting than other makes...
I sympathise entirely with your plight! Laughing

Alot of the cheap kit is just as protective as the more expensive kit, I wouldn't want to buy anything that's inadequate for her. She just doesn't need all the fancy kit that keeps you warm, cool and all the rest of it.

Chris when should we go? I don't know where it is. You can navigate this time.
