Weird one on my commute today.
Tootling along at a nice steady 81 along the M6, and theres a MLM at 70mph weaving within his lane (Touching left white line, dragging it back to the right white line).
I figure hes texting or talking or otherwise distracted. So I sit behind him (At a sensible distance I might add) for a while until he stops swerving.
When he dropped down to 65 - I got bored and decided he would be better off a long way behind me so I cane it past him up to 90ish and pull back into the left lane and continue tootling at 81.
cue 2 mins later and he comes storming past me and pulls in front - then slows back to his old speed!?!?!?!?!
Initially I overtook and he just did the same, so I slowed down to lorry speed to let him do one...
Hes obviously got issues satisfying his wife / husband and wants to feel big.
Eventually he was far enough away, so I get back to 81 and continue on my way, I eventually did pass him again as he ad yet again slowed down to 65! - he ignored me this time and I left the Motorway shortly after that anyway.
What a Khunt. |

I suspect his side of the story probably goes something like this.
"There I was doing 80mph and this dick on a bike comes screaming past then pulls back in and slows right in front of me"...
I suspect this time of year, a lot of van drivers are on deliveries, with some seriously achievable targets to fail to meet. ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.

Agree on both counts.
He was intent on having some kind of road rage with me! I tried going in front and he caught up - I tried hanging back and he slowed down!
I dont doubt that he had no idea I was even there until I went "screaming" past - loads of other traffic had already overtaken him, he just didnt like bikes |

a black van on the M3 this morning was doing something similar.
he was in the right lane ahead of me, i caught up doing an indicated ~55 (in the average 50 zone). he pulls in and i go past.
about a mile or 2 later i'm in the middle lane and he goes past doing 60+ i guess.. wasn't a slow overtake to be sure and I was still doing a little above 50.
then pulls in and slows down to < 50 meaning i had to pull out and overtake him again to maintain my speed.
i was coming off at the next junction so as it gets close i pull into the left and i see him hammering past in the right lane again past a couple of cars then pulling in and the car that was in the middle then overtook the van - evidentially the van has slowed again.
seemed odd. why not keep a steady pace?
maybe he thought he could do 45 for a bit then 60 for a bit and still keep an average of 50 ____________________ CBR954RR - Daily toy

confined to a car at the moment I've had some interesting ones on the commute,
Vans coming alongside the slow moving left lane that's wanting to come off the motorway and trying to get into the lane.
Unfortunately they are oblivious to the fact that their front indicator is in front of my small car and their rear is behind me, their side repeater is on the door mirror, above my head - I can not see their indicator and am maintaining an ok distance from the vehicle ahead and there is a slightly larger gap behind me, but for some reason I should, apparently be letting him in front as he's in lane 2 wanting to come into lane 1
because I don't know he wants to change lanes, he dives in the gap behind me, flashes his head lights and then nearly rams me when I've stopped for the lights.
Ah, well, started checking for side indicators now, this morning's van muppet didn't indicate so had no idea ____________________ Looking to pass your CBT / Bike tests in Bury Lancashire? try www.focusridertraining.co.uk Would recommend.

As someone else who spends a lot of time on the road, I can tell you that there's not as many van drivers who are dicks as the general road population.
See far more randomly switching lanes with no warning, braking unnecessarily on the motorway. Not to mention thinking they're driving a tank. ____________________ Mpd72: I can categorically say i’m Brighter than that, no matter how I come across on here.

Don't worry, I've been a total typical cunt of a van driver today to make up for it.
I was coming around a roundabout on my way home with several busy queuing approach roads onto the traffic island, when a two lane approach road had a car sticking out well past the give way line, making me have to move in from my lane slightly. Because said car was blocking the view onto the roundabout for the other drivers, a car in the left lane pulled out in front of me and then stopped as I took evasive action. Unfortunately an R6 was behind him, and trying to filter out between the lanes.
I took the next exit, but took off like a loony in my temper and then slammed on my brakes for the next roundabout. The R6 was now behind me, and I would never brake hard with a bike behind me normally. I always keep right in to the left too if a bike is there, in case it wants a good view to come past. But still in rage from the twat in the car pulling out in front of me, I accelerate to 70mph in a 60mph road, instead of going slow and steady until the bike gets a good view to overtake.
He may of been slightly pissed off by my actions maybe, but didn't get annoyed. But the long story short is I lived up to twat in the van syndrome today to make up for being a nice courteous road user on many other occasions. I |

Haha, I always slip into angry Audi man for a few minutes each journey... Its almost instinctive.
I have to physically talk myself down and back off...
(Yes actually talk to myself in the car to do it!)
"There's a car in front of him - he cant go anywhere"
"I can see why he hasn't pulled in yet, just wait a min"
"Stop driving so fast, you're just getting to the back of the next queue quicker!"
etc.
etc.
Then I just settle into it and relax. |

waiting at a set of lights on a cross roads a lorry comes from the left of me across and takes his time as its a tight turn and he has a large trailer so is being careful not to hit the car in the right hand lane
at this point our lights change but we cant go as trailer is still across the road ahead (it wasn't clear )
van behind starts beeping at me

I sometimes get that when being cautious around HGVs on roundabouts. Hang back - in his mirrors while hes making a right turn (back end of his trailer is obviously across my lane)
Crawling along - matching his pace before he straightens up
And get abused from behind and not in the good way!
1) Get in car
2) Turn brain off |
