Me and the girlfriend have just booked our Theory test and need to now find a school to get our CBT and training towards our Mod 1 and Mod 2.

We're in the South East on the Surrey/Kent/Sussex border. Could anyone recommend an instructor or school around this part of the country?

MTS Sussex got me through my tests a few years ago, I can recommend them.

Before choosing someone to spunk all my money with, I emailed around five training schools in the south east and explained how much riding experience I had and what sort of training I was looking for. All but one replied back with "yeh just give us a call when you can and we will book you in", MTS Sussex took time to respond back with an answer greater than nine words - answering my questions with a detailed response. In terms of the training, from what I can remember they were good - no complaints.

Looks like they now have some MT07s, I've never ridden one but heard good things about them - I unfortunately had to learn on a shitter (GS500).

Training aside, have either of you ridden a bike before? You might not like it, most people take their CBT first to test the water - rather than going through the ordeal that is the theory test.

It usually goes: CBT -> Theory -> Mod1 -> Mod2

1st Gear in Farnborough are brilliant.

They have a very large tarmac area laid out just like a Mod 1 test centre and the actual rest centre is about a 3 minute ride up the road too.

All the instructors are great there, don't know of anyone who has a bad word to say about them.

I hear Kickstart in Gosport (Hampshire) is a pretty good school, but might be a little out of your way.

One of their DAS instructors is a nutcase though. Pinky he's called. Might know him, Posts here quite a bit.
