Forward controls on an SV650.

I know there's nothing in front of the engine on these bikes, but has anyone fitted forward controls to one or even moved the footrests and linkage forward at all?

That said, it's a curious choice of bike. The SV650S is egregiously leany-forwards. Putting the foot controls somewhere sane would still leave you with bars in a faux racing position. InB4 "shitting frog".

If it's the SV650 with the bars rather than clip ons, it's still got that uppy-backy foot position, and that's a relatively rare model.

Rather than spooging money on either model to reduce its value, I'd be looking at getting something with a more neutral position to begin with. If you're thinking Suzuki, then the V-Strom is the obvious candidate.

Tut Tut - the SV650 footpegs are already too low and forward - they should be higher up and further back!

I could swear I'd seen an SV650 cruiser, but no evidence of it.
People have made them into sand racers and raced supermoto, but alas both involve improving the handing for the chosen surface rather than making it worse!

A friend of mine has a 'below the knee' amputation and he managed to get by with the rhs one of these type and a thumbbrake on an exup.

I know it's an unpopular view; but personally I'd see owning a bandit as a personal choice, not a disability.
Suppose it's like being fat etc - for some, maybe the psychological issues leading to the situation aren't a choice.


(For the leg, of course loads in similar situations ride performance orientated bikes Smile.)
