|
|
So yesterday i noticed a load of salt/grit crap congregating around my bike so nipped to sainsburys to jetwsh it off.
After i finished the bike wouldn't start (turns over, no ignition), the bike is a EXC 450...i know i probably shouldn't have used a jetwsh ended up having to push it a mile home in leathers
Things ive done is drain the carb and thats about it for now, tonight im going to inspect the spark plug cap for moistier ect...
Anything else you guys would recommend to check while im at it

Yup, WaterDisplacement-40 all over anything remotely electrical. I killed my GPZ500 with a regular hose, let alone a jetwash, WD-40 resurrected it. <Teflonian ramble about having to spray it inside the distributor cap on cars back in Nineteen Dickety Six to deal with condensation> ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

The electrics on my EXC get a regular dose of WD40. They are pretty exposed to jet washes. ____________________ I want your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle.

I'd just spray the heck out of it first before you start taking parts off, as it's unlikely to be anything too serious. This really is what WD-40 is for. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
