Not paranoid bout health. I understand cyclist should fully wear them, deep breathing burnt micro hydro carbons isnt good, personally I smoke anyway, it's just that I ride / sit in the filter position waiting for a gap and that means a lot of time on top of dirty vans exhausts pumping out dirty diesel fumes, gives me headache and heart burn (?! Idk y either..)
Tnx roger I will check out thread.
When I was in NHS I assisted on a project to see why childhood respiratory dieases had increased instead of decreasing as parents had stopped smoking indoors and around thier kids, I only did the systems, but the general feeling was better diagnosis, better life expectancy in infancy and a big feeling was toddlers buggies presenting kids head at exhaust level on the pavement..Don't know the outcome asI left when systems where in place, but i doubt OPEC / big business was brought into the final finding.. ____________________ ybr125 Sold, GSF600 K1 Bandit (For Sale), FJR13000 gen2. |

Gotta keep your lungs clean to get maximum hit from your ciggies. |
Not to burst your buble, but there are still very dangerous particles, that are so tiny, that you would need a oxygen mask and hazmat suit to protect your health. For instance, diesel exhaust gases. There is even a corelation between the public busses users and cardiovascular and respiratory health issues, even cancer. You might say, that the latest diesel engines are much cleaner, but then check the avg. age of diesel engine vehicles in your country. Also, all the new filtration and stuff, requires the car to get warmed up, so the first initial miles, these systems don't even work. City style of driving is: Sit in a cold car, start it up, drive 5 miles (still not warm enough), turn it off, jump to Tesco's and drive 5 miles back. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

Well, Hitler was against smoking, so it only makes sense for the victorious parties of the WWII to smoke, especially for the UK citizens. He even tried to completely ban smoking. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

You eve ridden through thick London traffic for long periods?
You can taste it in the air. |
I remember riding a scootay around Bangkok for ages, and my spit and snot was tinged black. It's a real issue, just at varying degrees in different places. ____________________ Previous: GSF600, FZR600 x2, ZXR750, XT600 Tenere, CB125, CZ125, ETZ 250, ER5, CCM R30, DRZ400, RF600x4, RF900x2, GS500, VTR1000F, 640 SMC, CB250 NIGHTHAWK, GT550x3, GPX750 TE610, CB500, X11x2, SV650, ZING 125, TL1000R,CB250 Superdream, CBR1100XX |
