kriega tailbags

looking to get a kriega tailbag for my cbr125 and to swap it over to my cbr600 when i get it.... liscenced up just need to get round to it.

this will purely be for transporting round a new chain.

Q. which bag would be more suitable for a 16mm pragmasis 2.5m chain with noose end? the US10 or US20?

US10, should be plenty of room in there.

Seconding US10. If you got a US20 you'd have to put a hoody or something in there with it at the minimum to get the straps taut.

are the fittings interchangeable on the US10 and US20 do you know? might use the motorbike some weekends to travel for training, what you reckon you could fit in the US20 with the chain, trainers, tracksuit, towel etc?

I know it's not what you asked.. however.. I'd get a topbox so you can chuck your lid in it when you're off the bike. Big enough for a heavy duty chain + backpack + fleece when you're riding.
It's more money as you'll need a different rack for each bike, but the box nad mounting plate can be used on either.

I have a US30 Kreiga, I wouldnt be shoving chains in it though, aquired a proper rack for mine at half price so I put my old oxford bag on that, might just put a top box on this month.

A Kriega seems to me to be a bit extravagant purely for carrying a chain. I recommend them and they'd probably do the job, but they're far more useful than that. If I only wanted to carry a chain, aren't there dedicated bags for that which would be a bit cheaper?

dont really want a top box as I think "sports" bike and topbox looks a bit.... i duno. with a tail bag it doesnt look too bad, i went with Kriega as I wanted to get something which was easy to put on and off and sturdy enough to lug around a 10kg chain (I am guessing the 16mm 2.5m one is around 10kg - have emailed to ask). im sure I could store other bits in there if need be but my biking is 99% commuting. dont mind carrying my lid, gloves etc and dumping in office

cheers guys. do you think the 16mm 2.5m one is asking too much from the tail bag not to start ripping at the seams and I would be better with a 13mm? or do you think would be OK from experience

They're pretty heavy duty and come with a ten year guarantee so if it does start to fall apart then you've lost nothing as they'll sort it.

Just make sure you strap it down tight so the chain won't shift around too much and I can't see an issue.

I use a us10 to carry the almax.

I expected better quality from kriega. For what it is, quite an expensive bag. My backpacks have survived worse treatment for longer.

10 year warranty also means jack. Shit customer service.
