Hi there,

Trying to do a throttle body sync on my 03 GSXR750 and the service manual (and a youtube vid) had got me stumped.

The service manual and a youtube vid of a 2001 model (should be identical https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEimppXHEfo) show the vacuum hoses being connected to the vacuum nipple on the lower left side of the throttle body.

My bike has a empty hole at that location, along with TB's 2 and 3. With a rubber hose connected to the lower right. Looking at the same throttle bodies on ebay, these are identical to my bike.

Am I supposed to pull those hoses off and connect up to there? I looked at those hoses but they seem quite tightly fitted, I'm sure they could come off with some persuasion.

FYI - the bike is running absolutely fine so it doesn't seem to have a vacuum leak either.

Thanks in advance.

Only done carbs, looks like the 4 you want are all connected together and the extra 1 goes to the pair valve.
All the others should be sealed.

The four that are linked together should be connected to the map sensor, it measures the intake vacuum and it doesn't like the pulsing signal it gets if it's only connected to one barb.

You can disconnect these temporarily to use your balancers but it might make the bike run a bit rough, perhaps even stall.

On the 3 blanked off is it possible to remove them and connect up there with adaptors in your kit?
Failing that you could T in on all 4.

There's nothing blanked off, they're just holes, exactly the same as on the attached pics. Adaptors don't fit in them either

The extra one connect to number 4 is to the inlet air pressure (MAP) valve, that's correct. It's just the manual shows the nipples to connect to should be in the same location at the pair hose, on each respective TB. Where the holes are in the pictures, there should be brass nipples to connect to and in all pictures I've seen of actual TB's they are removed
