Given that I'm going to be in no financial position to buy a new machine for the foreseeable, I've developed a bit of an itch to change the colour of my steed's wheels. Trouble is, I don't have the equipment etc to remove the wheels, tyres, bearings and so on.

Does anyone know of anyone in or around my neck of the woods who'd take a bike in and be willing to disassemble things themselves prior to painting the wheels? Everyone I've contacted has said they'd do the job only if the wheels are delivered to them ready to go.

Alternatively, if anyone on here is in the area and able to do the disassembly for me I'd be willing to cough up.

Cheers Thumbs Up

You're a dentist, just pull a few extra teeth like they used to do in the '70s. Alternatively, wheel rim tape might scratch that itch.

I work purely in academia just now (a bad idea that seems to have snowballed out of control) so unfortunately rendering a few more people edentulous isn't an option.

and what area might that be?

Alternatively if you buy yourself a universal paddock stand you can take em off (one at a time) - remove the discs and have a go yourself. Degrease rough up with some 320 grit and rattle can away. Just mask up the bearings and use the playing card trick around the tyres..
