As the title says, I'm thinking of selling my 91 VFR as a project as it's sitting in my lockup, and my spare bedroom, and my kitchen, and my boiler room.

I stripped the panels off about a year ago and sanded some of them back then repainted them (and messed up the tank)..... now after a year I've realised I'm not going to finish it, as it's just spread over several areas.

I've got the new fork seals, brake pads and shit loads of paint.... but haven't got the time to work on it any more, so figured I'd try selling it.

When I bought it, I paid around £700, I've had it almost 4 years, and it has been a decent workhorse, it's never missed a beat (except from the time I jet washed it and it ran like shit for around 10 minutes).

Would I be asking too much to try getting £400 for it as it stands?

Does it run? Is everything there? If so, then I think £400 is fine. I may even be interested, location dependant.

I reckon you'd get £400 easily. You could probably break it and get that, the earlier FL-FP (1990-1993) rear wheels fetch about £100-£150 and plastics are always in demand, if you use Facebook have a look at the VFR750 RC36 group probably sell some if not all of it on there. If you do break it I'd be interested in the screen and rack if it has one.

Cheers

Jon

Last year I sold a reasonable condition, running, MOTed 86 model for about £550. If yours is a collection of bits spread out on a tarpaulin, it's worth whatever someone feels like paying. Maybe £400, but I would expect that to be top money.

You'd get £250 for two intact fairing mid-sections alone.

Figured I'd add some pictures (the better ones of course)

How the bike currently looks:

The nose cone has been dismantled and the screen has been painted (after using the heat gun to try removing scratches and held it a bit too long on 1 bit):

How the rear wheel used to look and how it looks now:

And the tank after a strip and spray, although I did mess it up when I tried fitting the scratch guard, so this needs redone:

Still interested, where are you located? Does it run?

I still have too much "bad karma" from downvoting spamming spunktrumpets and associated yootoob channel, so I have to type in all this bollocks.

Might be interested in the rear wheel if you break.
