FX/FY carb models are worth quite a bit less IMO. Similar frame but quite a lot of differences. A good number of parts are not interchangeable, but annoyingly they are far more common, for a good reason - no immobiliser. they get stolen and end up as ebay parts, most after being crashed, found and recovered.
My tatty, 80,000 mile cbr6 is not going to be worth much |

I done daily 80 miles round trip (urban, NSL A roads & motorways) on my old (11 plate) YBR 125 for a year until passed test then done it on my BMW F650, chain drive. Both bikes were/are ok, obviously 650 cc better than 125. I relocated work so now do 50 mile daily round trip commute.
I asked the bloke who services & MOT's my bike, my DAS instructor and the examiner what is best minimum cc bike for 80 Mike commute, they all said best is minimum 600cc.
Need heated trips. Comfy seat & windscreen ideal.
250cc good mpg but bigger bike more stable in wind, on bends etc. ____________________ Riding 2001 BMW F650 Funduro. 1st bike Yamaha YBR 125. CBT Aug 2014. Theory Oct 2014. Mod 1 Passed Sept 2015. Mod 2 passed Dec 2015. Wish I'd started biking 20+ years ago...luv it |
