Hi all, so im after some advice and seem to get straight up answers here Smile . I have a full 2 piece suit of RST track tech evo 2 in black. I bought them around 4 months ago, originally i ordered a smaller size but as this was my first suit i wasnt great with sizing, when i tried them on they were very tight and quite uncomfortable, i returned them for a larger size and now again i have lost weight and the leathers have stretched. When i sit on the bike the trousers are OK, generally knee sliders in right place perhaps a little low but arse is a bit saggy when standing and walking around, the jacket IMO is just much too loose, even with a hoodie or something on i just need something alot tighter and more comfortable.

What is the best way for me to go about getting a new jacket? i can sell privately but how much should i expect to lose? im finding it hard to find others who are selling the same jacket that arent selling brand new ones, will the jacket still fit the bottoms zip together even if the jacket is now a smaller size?

shall i swap it? im just not sure what to do get a different brand? would they look silly togeher without a matching set? i like to look good aswell lol, im still paying it off on the credit card but safety first.

im sure this happens to alot of bikers ! thank you Smile

What, lose so much weight they have to get tighter leathers? Laughing

I think that's actually pretty rare, but well done you.

I'd be interested to know the answer to that one too; not that I need a smaller jacket (as if!) but a lighter weight one for next summer. Do I need to stick with the same brand jacket as my existing kecks (which are just about OK temperature-wise in the summer)? How generic are these zips?

Not to me. If I wore leathers I'd look like a badly stuffed sofa. Smile

AFAIK RST 2 piece suits all use the same zip
when I bought my RST textiles I was told I could swap between other RST 2 piece suits inc leathers

Normally as long as you stick to the same brand everything will zip together, some brands will zip to other brands but it's a gamble and not very common.

That said you usually get both parts of the zip so you can get a seamstress to swap them over so everything matches if you want.

If you sell the larger jacket I expect you'll lose at least 50% of it's cost. I'd be tempted to keep hold of it in case you pork up again in a years time. How much weight would have to go back on before jacket + hoody becomes snug?

Do all leather boots get soaked in heavy rain- I am looking for waterproof boots but all are made of leather- any recommendations?

They will if they're not waterproof leather boots.

I've got a pair of Dainese goretex lined full leather boots and they're as waterproof as a very waterproof thing.

You can get textile boots which are also waterproof TCX do a couple IIRC. It's less about the outer material and more about the membrane inside the boot that keeps your feet dry.

Another way to approach the footwear issue is that you get some very effective waterproof socks these days.

You can buy boots with a waterproof membrane, or you can wear a disposable on on your feet.

Basically the way it worked out, the original jacket size 44 i had seemed to be to short in the sleeves and was quite tight didnt realise new leather would stretch so much after a while. so i now have a 46, but i since had a lifestyle change and lost weight and dont plan to put it back on, but now its stretched naturally and it isnt huge but its too big for my liking and isnt as warm and feels a little baggy on me. id just prefer to get it changed to a smaller size if its possible, i bought it for £240 around oct time as part of a deal, now its £300 alone on sportbikeshop.

whats the best thing to do, should i stick with a matching set or even sell it and put the money towards something else, i mean do mix matching jacket and trousers brands look silly?

44-46 is hardly any different. Do some pressups. Join a gym. Wear 2 hoodys. Very Happy

If you were a fat porker before, then you'll probably regain it and regret not having any leathers that fit.

If you're at target weight/shape and believe you'll keep it there, consider getting it altered to fit - hopefully you'll get a better fit than off the shelf.

This, you may as well keep bigger jacket and wear extra layers under in winter, it will be a miracle if you don't expand a bit one way or another over a few years.

As it stands at the moment i think a 44 or maybe a size lower would fit pretty nice, with a hoodie on underneath it still isnt that tight, its also very cold in this kind of weather as it doesnt hug me well enough.

i guess it will be cool in summer and i may look into getting it taken in but im not sure how well that will work.
