BMF SHOW, 21-22 May at East of England Showground, Peterborough.

After a forced absence last year, the spectacle of vintage speedway makes a welcome return to this year’s BMF Show.

Sponsored by Carole Nash Insurance, the BMF Show is virtually a permanent fixture in the biking calendar but the noise and excitement of vintage speedway, run as a series of demonstration races, will be just part of a range of spectacular arena activities from motocross stunt and free-style displays to the infamous and ever popular moped enduro.

But arena events are only part of this season-opener. The massive two-day BMF Show, acknowledged as the biggest of its type in Europe, turns Peterborough’s showground into a tented village of everything that is biking and regularly attracts upwards of 85,000 people. It’s simply an event no keen biker should miss.

Now only three months away, this amazing biking bazaar, although massive in scale and content, is famous for retaining a friendly laid-back atmosphere while still offering the best value in biking.

‘The BIS’, the BMF’s Best In Show competition, with a total prize fund of £2,600 and again sponsored by Carole Nash Insurance, will contain stunning bikes of every type from every era, but that’s not all, there are side shows and attractions of all sorts to keep even the most demanding of visitors happy for hours on end.

Bookings are already up on last year and as usual, there'll be nearly 900 trade and club stands offering the widest range of biking accessories and clothing anywhere in the UK, plus all the latest bikes on display from all major manufacturers.

Fast facts: BMF SHOW, 21-22 May, 9am – 5pm both days

Day Admission: BMF members £12 (advance booking only £10)
Public: £14 (advance £12)
Concessions: Senior citizens: £6 (proof required)
Children 14 and under free (optional donation to BMF Foundation)

Closing date for advance bookings: Friday 6th May

Further details from Cherise Hardy or Louise La’Brooy: 0116 284 5380

Can affiliate members camp too, or is it just paid up members?

Right, the answer to your question is YES, as long as your club/association is definitely affiliated. If you call 0116 284 5390 (membership hotline) they will be able to confirm if this is the case.

Thumbs Up

Thumbs Up Well, the Royal Enfield Owner's Club sent me a BMF card with "Affiliate Member" on it, so I'm guessing it's OK Smile Haven't been to the Bloody Muddy Field for a while, and never camped there, so it should be a giggle Thumbs Up

Peterborough's not even that far, but the BMF show is always the week before our exams, so not a good time. Humbug. It'll have to wait again.

Why not see if one of your mates could come?

You could persuade him/her to join the BMF as well!

Maybe you could just come for the day? It would be a shame if you were that close and couldn't pop by to say hello!

I'll see what the time pressures are nearer the time I think. It is only 50 odd miles each way, past Melton and right a bit. (I still need to go and buy a pork pie from Melton Mowbray, being only 20 miles away... Similarly, only living 25 miles from Bakewell when at home, I need to and eat a Bakewell pudding. Smile )
