Spent 4 years running semi 10w40 in my daily run around without any problems at all... Probably even changed it at least twice

my reply from 2005

use only for the engine fully synthetic 2 strokes oil , for me the best is motul 600 . for the gear box i use fully synthetic oil for automatic gear box such as dextron III (and i fill 5 cc more than recommanded).

coolant is for the cooling system , the oïl 10-40W is for the gear box , the 2strokes oïl is for the engine !!
you cannot ride a 2 strokes bike without knowing how it works !!!!
