I like the look of the Stealth 2, but the phrase 'water resistant' has me worried. I want it for daily all-weather commuting, is the worst of British rain likely to bugger it up?

Only the worst of the worst. My Drift has been been fine in the rain, I believe Matt had issues with his during a thunderstorm on the M25.

Have been using mine for 2 years, all year round though some of the worst downpours and water getting in is not a problem I've encountered. Never had fogging or steaming of the lens either.

Mine got a bit of fogging under the screen on a particularly parky day but other than that no problem.

Biggest problem for me is remembering to charge the bloody thing Rolling Eyes

I get regular fogging of the screen (rather than the lens), but it doesn't affect the functionality.

Battery life is closer to 2 hours than 3, and it charges slowly.

I've had 3 all dealt with very rainy days fine, only downside to the cameras is the slowly degrading battery life. After a year or so the battery life just starts to get lower.

Tru dat of all batteries, but it's non-replaceable on the Drift.

On dry days, I tend to pop the (shitty, fragile) back cover off and run a springy USB cable to the camera to power it directly.

Well I've ordered one now. All the others are either crap, far too expensive, or not great for helmet attachment.

I've used my ghost and stealth in the crappiest of weathers without any problems whatsoever.

Don't think you'll have anything to worry about

Been getting on grand with stealth 2, aside from two issues. First arrive with plastic cover over LED rattling about in box, took straight back. Second one died after 9 months - just refused to charge. Swapped under shop guarantee. Replacement has been fine last 6 months.

TBH, I often get around 2.5hrs out of mine. No problems with charging, 90% of the time I'm only using it for 1.5hrs a day, and it'll charge from that to full in an hour or so. You must use a decent 2A charger though, it will barely charge (if at all) with anything less.

Gotchya. Thumbs Up

Mine does work fine (after I glued the back cover nob back on), but I don't think the quality matches the £100 asking price given that the SJ4000 shows what you can do on a smaller budget.

Sadly, I can't find a better alternative in the Stealth's form factor, so while I wouldn't actively recommend one, I can't think what else you could get.

There seems to be a bizarre but persistent obsession with making action cameras in a handheld shape, and I'm looking at you, Go Protm.

Not sure how different the Stealth is to the Ghost but used my Ghost in the swimming pool (down about 6 ft) with no probs apart from steaming up LCD.

The Ghosts' advertised as waterproof, the Stealth 2 as water resistant. Hence my concerns.

Don't take it swimming. It'll be fine in rain.
