Not having a go but do you know how a clutch works? Some people seem to think its like an On/Off switch for some reason... If you know how it works it might help you use it correctly. Just a thought like....

Not beyond credence to tweek the dump gate on something he could insure, though....

Its actually incredibly easy to get a 150mph plus capable car for fairly little money. Whats up with you fellas here? plenty of cars do this and more.

A Nissan 300zx TT which was highly modded got me to it and it could have gone further if i would have been prepared to do so and not come to my senses Wink

Sure guys while i don't feel i have to answer to any of you here i will still upload some proof just to prove you wrong. What would you like me to upload? will check back tomorrow and update then as i have a 6am start tomorrow.

See now I know you're lying. Finding a working Z32 is hard enough let alone one that doesn't implode on a run to a ton 50.

Quite. My S3 had a 155mph limiter on it. It was a 2.0 turbo 4 pot, official figures for a boggo one 265bhp.
0-60 5.7secs, Not bad for a 1500kg 5 seater. I saw 160 displayed during one good thrash, top of 4th gear was about
110mph with two gears to go. It wasn't cheap though, mine cost me 17k at 4 years old and 3 owners.

Insuring a 3.0 TT V6 so young is almost impossible, would love to see how you afforded it.

Not everyone is poor in their twenties you know. But as stated it really is not any of your business. This is a motorcycle forum correct?

Bullshit - Plenty of Z32s on the market that are still fairly reliable even with the age of them. Yes if something goes wrong with them then its a huge mechanic bill. But its a lot of car for little money.

17k is a good price though at 4 years old. My 300zx cost me 2.8k but it was a 1996 lol. Still a nice car though with lots of power. And it could go far beyond 150mph with the top speed limiter removed.

Previous owner who i bought it from done a fair bit to it. Including removing the top speed limiter.

Didn't really keep the 300zx for long though, insurance was huge and i got banned shortly after getting it. Although i could afford the insurance it gets to a point where its just a total waste of money even if you can afford it.

Edit not a fucking chance i could insure a 300zx now after my ban. I meant i could remotely afford it before but no flipping way now. Heck i don't think any amount of money would get me insured on a car of this sort now Confused

I have a fantastic court-room drama playing my head; The CPS, offering the charge of simple speeding, the defense, trying to keep his client seated, and the judge, amused, saying "No, no carry on.... so you don't agree you were doing over 100mph on the motorway? So, tell us, how fast WERE you going?" And the rest, is plying out before us!

Lady's and Gentleman of the jury, the facts, I think may forever remain clouded in some mystery, but, I don't think it is unreasonable to ask you whether in your opinion, DUMB has been proven, to be beyond reasonable doubt!

[shakes head]

Untitled... remember that 'time-out' I suggested... yeah.. put the fucking spade down!

[shakes head]

Yeah.. OK, you may need to keep hold of it a little longer... the hole IS a bit deep, you might need to dig some foot-holes in the side to climb out....

[shakes head]

Now WHEN you get to the top, PUT he shovel down.. and peer back into the.. well, it's not so much a 'hole' any more... crater? Pit? ... is that a rather pissed off Kangeroo, down there? with you?!?! .... possible rail link to Sydney, perhaps!

There are an awful lot of cars on the UK market.
There are, an AWFUL lot of cars on UK roads.
A FEW of them, probably the only ones you ever pay any interest to, but still, NOT an awful lot, of ANY of them, as standard, might achieve that two & a half miles a minute velocities. A few more, might, with a little mechanical meddling..

B-U-T... if I walked round this town, that has a population of about a 1/2 million people, and around 250,000 cars... I would have to hunt PRETTY hard to find a dozen of them, that could, potentially, attain that sort of velocity..

Feel free, to go google AutoCar specs and DVLA registration statistics to argue with me... but before you do, JUST take a peek over your shoulder at the size of that hole behind you... finding 50 potentially 150mph motor's per million to prove me wrong, would't REALLY prove you right.

WOULD sort of prove a bit more 'DUMB' if in the face of such overwhelming evidence, should more be required......

BUT I DON'T CARE!

It is absolutely astounding that you have even mentioned it!

It is even MORE astounding, even allowing for the usual 'car driver ignorance', that you think that a bunch of bikers, who represent collectively less than 1% of UK road transport, and to whom 150+ vehicles are pretty much 'average'... any pointy fairing 600 middle weight of the last twenty years can pretty much top that, out the box! Should be what?

Do you should think that ANY of us might, what? Be impressed, by a double limit speeding ticket? Think some sort of rebel-may-care, stick it to the feds 'cudos', might be acquired from it!?!?!? That it will some-how endear you in this company? Portray some sort of 'special'... actually it probably does.. but not the sort of 'special' you're hoping for!!!

I don't know. And I STILL don't care!!

YOU ARE AN IDIOT!

An idiot who cant drive a car.. cos he lost his licence for some 'special' kind of stupid.

An idiot who cant afford to insure a car, because of that special kind of stupid.

An idiot who thinks that the 'solution' to that sort of stupid is to get a CBT and hang an L-Plate off the back of a 125 is a smart way to dodge the problems of getting back in a box!

And an idiot who cant even do THAT!

And an idiot who RATHER than look at the 'attitude problems' that has got him into this predicament, who STILL thinks that rage and outrage at his predicament is STILL some sort of solution!!!!!

TIME FUCKING OUT KID!!!

You have paid your money, turned up to do a CBT and NOT made the grade.

Twice.

You are argumentative.

You will NOT take criticism!

You would rather argue for gawd knows how many pages WHY you are 'right', rather than even consider you MIGHT be 'wrong'!

You would rather, take the argument down gawd knows how many tangential and inconsequential alleys away from the topic, that consider you might be wrong, and to dismiss what any-one might be trying to teach you!

You are antagonist and confrontational!

You have asked us for 'help'... but because we haven't give you the help you would like, turned US.. the folk who might actually have helped, who might have actually been HAPPY to help, into 'The enemy'!! People you are no longer engendering help from, but who you have to fight.. for what? Justify why we shouldn't call you an IDIOT!?!?

TIME FUCKING OUT!!!

Just STOP! Take a very deep breath. Go get some anxiety counselling before you implode! Learn your 'triggers' and the 'emergency stop' ad shit! Get a fucking handle on it! Christ, get some bludy DRUGS if you have to!

But STOP this shit your doing now!

Come back, calm. Chaste. Rational and READY to learn. Ready to take criticism! Ready to BELIEVE that you CAN be wrong! And that being told you have done something stupid is OT the same as being told you are STUPID... which at the moment you ARE.

Change the attitude.

When that is changed... MAYBE you'll be a bit less of an idiot, and MAYBE you will have a chance to start learning how to ride a motorbike. MAYBE you'll stand a chance of obtaining the incredibly low threshold required for a DL196, and might be allowed out on the road on a little motorbike. Maybe, you'll start achieving things and MAYBE you'll find that will carry over, with the revised attitude to other bts of your life....

Maybe not. But, whatever you are doing at the moment, isn't working for you very well, is it?

So JUST fucking STOP!

Take a time out.

And ponder your little 'attitude problem' at the top of a very long list... and consider whether changing THAT, might, just might, actually be tackling ALL of them.

I have a fair bit of experience with them myself.

(4th gear, by the way, and notice negative boost as it'd already come off the power. The cameraman wasn't quite as quick as the car it seems).

Despite it being a fast car, it was never a fast car. Just over 400bhp and it'd pull through to a ton 70 no bother - but my 300bhp S13 would outdrag it all the way to its limiter at 163.

I've used more of their air flow meters for other applications than you've had birthdays, though Wink

Think if I had more enthusiasm in that direction, my money would probably end up on an original 1970 240Z, though. About as close as I could ever hope to get to a genuine Pete-Brock, 289 Cobra-Daytona, really! [sigh]

Wasn't the 300 the reason they changed the name? Folk kept putting up umbrellas when they saw them coming, "look out, its about to start raining Dat-sun-Cogs!" Wink

You have to WORK on it!

You mean you have passed that point of making up the jokes whilst sat in the waiting room having run out of old copies of auto-express to read?

"72,00 miles on the oddometer! Geez that's good!"
"That's not the oddometer... that's the bill for the next service!"

"Hey, I bet that car's so fast it makes men cry!"
"Yup, repeatedly... usually into their wallets!"

"Listen to that whistle of that dump valve!"
"That's not a dump valve. That's the Japanese engineer, in the glove box waiting for the bang!"

As you may recall I spent large chunks of my youth on the American west coast, messing with stuff that had V8's. I recall a dentist with a penchant for Porches, had an early 300TT... He spent three years crying into his scotch complaining 'They Lied, they LIED! They said it would make a 'practical daily driver' compared to the Carerra! Would pay for itself on the 'savings' in the service bills! SAVINGS!.. He'd have probably explained, but at that point he descended into manic laughing, and reached for the NOs bottle and mask! Laughing

WOW 135 per cbt? Get to a new school seriously, theyre ripping you off... Simply put, you shouldnt fail a CBT, certainly not twice. Theyre clearly ripping you off...

Also isnt 135 a bit high for a cbt? I only paid 90 quid. Sure I ended up doing it on a twist and go because i struggled to do the figure of 8 on the honda while dragging back brake at crawl speed...

But while I had nerves the whole thing wasnt hard to do... Cluch control can take a little getting used to if youve never ridden a bike before... Before I got my lexmoto I stalled my dads 125 motorcross loads of times before I got to practice...

Now its all really second nature...

150mph on public roads? How did they collar you, did you stall?

I can see why the school hasn't let you progress beyond the training ground. Me and my kids are indebted to the school.

Strangely enough... no.
I thought that as well. But they said I was fine with gears and clutch control. I was just struggling at the time with the figure of 8 manoeuvre while dragging back brake... Im perfectly fine with gear changing and clutch control... It was adding the constantly turning and rear brake dragging that caused me to struggle a bit at the time... I can do it now though, ive practiced :p
