It was a pain in the arse doin the nose and seat as we had to paint half let it dry, next day mask off then paint other side, let it dry, next day laquer it, but worth it in the end, we are going to do our other bike the same but the silver and purple the other way round. |

Yes we will be racing in the Pre 97 class, First race is at Mondello on the 20th of march. Not sure if second bike will be pre 97 or supersport yet. |

You are preaching to the converted here. I once had a 350 powervalve which was streetfightered and finished in gold-metalflake purple with gold drag-bars and purple anodised bits (back when purple anodised bits were a new and quite cool thing to have).
Yes I admit it, I was a tart in my former life, but I got over it. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

You wouldn't be interested in posting a little beginners guide to painting a bike as you've done a cracking job - I assume this wasn't the first time you painted a bike?

Great jobs lads, i would also be interested in how and how much, as i might have some stone chip damage to sand down and paint out on the new bike. ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...

The Paint used on the left hand side is call Iris (purple)it is a Kia (car company) colour and the right hand side was sprayed with Audi TT silver. Total cost of paint, tinners, hardener, laquer, tape etc was about £70.00 - £80.00.
The biggest pain was the time factor, one day Iris (purple), next day silver, next day laquer.
Oh yes and two days rubbing it down.
We are going to do the wheels when we have time and all the stickers still have to go on.
This is the first we have sprayed a bike.

See you trackside then! Look out for number 67, Adam West. It's a '92/93 model CBR600 in black and silver, sponsored by Pidcock Motorcycles. It's putting out about 108bhp at the back wheel at the mo, it's quite tuned up to say the least ____________________ A big enough hammer fixes anything! |

Yes we used a compressor. Basically we rubbed the parts down with 400/600 wet and dry, then rubbed it all with normal thinners.
Mixed the paint with paint thinners 1 to 1 mix then applied two or three lights coat.
Once both colours were done let it all dry then
mixed laquer 2 parts laquer to 1 part hardener, then same again applied two or three light coats.
Now because some parts were half and half we had to leave it for a day to dry before applying laquer, but if you are doin it all one colour then u can apply the laquer as soon as the paint is touch dry, normally about 30 minutes.
Now we aint sprayers so not sure if this is the correct way but it worked for us. |

Wow, thats really nice. (100% honest ) But.. Why u choose pink and silver? Bit of a weird combination.. or is that wat u aimed for? So u stand out
Good work
Any chance making a little guide on what paint u used, preperation etc?
As me and a mate are thinking of getting a bike to share, and will be spraying it. |
