Ahoy, shame that's shut down. It was backed by Learner Legal but it looks like they're throwing in the towel now, post Euro 4. Thanks, Brussels.
I used to admin there, and documented my fun on a Firebird at https://bikeinabox.blogspot.co.uk/
Decent enough little bikes, although you'll get a fair amount of bike-racism abuse here from people who haven't had one.
Loving the pikey soft panniers - how much bracketing have you got behind there to keep them off the wheels? ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

yeh i have had mine 2 years over 10k on the clock , no problems , the soft panniers are a must as i need to squeeze the bike down a narrow passage to my garden , i have a traingle bracket behind them
,i have had 3 of these bikes over the years , first one i had did 47,000 miles in 7 years , second one i had only for 6 months then had to get a car for work , , and now i got this one , shame they dont import them now euro 4 and all that , simple honda cg125 engine. only problem i ever had was a new clutch cable , cost me a tenner
i only ever ride 125's now , i just dont need anything bigger .
but am a tad tempted at the Honda 500x,,, must resist lol ____________________ to old to care |

Impossibru! Nasty Chinese rot-heaps, they fall apart in months!
Mine was also fine for 3 years, no problems that I didn't inflict on it myself. OK, tell a lie, an indicator bulb went.
I also had soft panniers. The reason that I asked about the brackets is that I initially held mine out with a W shaped bracket made from a long piece of aluminium bar, with the middle of it running over the rear wheel under the mudguard. Worked great until I hit a speed bump, bottomed out the rear, the tyre grabbed the middle of the bracket and dragged it round until it locked up the rear wheel. Fun times, fun times.
It's a pity they've been killed off by Euro4, they were perfectly decent and very cheap bikes. Now we're looking at a minimum of £2K for any Euro4 compliant 125, and I can't see that we're really getting much more bike for the money. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

yeh and to make matters worse it costs me £70 a year to insure
damn these bikes
oh yeh its hole and slotted bar that you buy from the nut and bolt store, , just make it into a triangle etc , the paniers are cycle ones with metal hooks etc that fit to the rack bar , i never had any problems , i also got a large topbox that fits on the rack with quick release , looks silly as so big but if you have to get shopping then ya gota do it , then i put the normal one back on when i get home .its just a work horse
ps and yes it realy did do 47k miles, in fact i sold it to someone on this forum , many years ago , but i aint been here so long i made a new account .. ____________________ to old to care |

yeh i think this is going to kill it for youngsters
but maybe put the value of older bikes up
for me ,,, if i can just keep this bike running for a few more years then i will retire and get the bus ,, pipe and slippers and all that,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
,,,,,, or i might get that Honda 500x and retire disgracefully , lol ____________________ to old to care |

Eh, the ideal size for any top box is: current size + a 4 pack of beer.
That bag on the front rubs on the mudguard under braking, right? ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

I was on there.. Shame it closed without any warning as it was a friendly group.
I find the HN128-8 a no nonsense bike that didnt need a built in MP3 player to sell well.. Stupid low second hand prices are a good reason to get one.. mine has practically no rust anywhere, although lots of ACF50 helps.
Would still sell it before the RXS100 though.. ____________________ nolidge iz pouwur.

Mmm, we're not huge fans of the all the Euro4 bollocks around these parts. I've needed the ABS on my BMW once, when I made a bad assumption about a car's intentions. But getting into that situation was entirely user error, possibly encouraged on by complacency due to knowing what the bike could do.
I've binned my Enfield, dropped my GPZ, and regularly lock up the e-z-lift rear on my Ninja, but I can't recall every having a bad moment on my Houniao. It was a surprisingly competent bike. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
