Hi guys

On the way home tonight on my Sv650sk4 it was going as always nicely and then i suddenly felt a loss in power, like you suddenly get when you run out of fuel when you don't realise. Pulled over and the tick over was pretty slow and it then stopped. Luckily i had a mate behind me from work who pulled over and helped.

So i had a look but couldn't really figure anything out so i started her up again and she was ok but i had no power really could only get to 25-30mph so me and my mate went real slow towards home which luckily was only 4 miles away. Then she decided to cut out again, so pulled over and my mate said is your exhaust supposed to be glowing. Had a look at it and i couldn't believe it. It was glowing so bright it looked pretty much like it was your cigarette lighter in the car once it pops out.

Well i rode it home sounding like a 50cc reving the shit out of it. I am still pretty annoyed about it now i only bought it in november when i had my crash with the hornet. But lets just hope i can get it sorted which i will because it is in warranty.

I also am going to get a nice little fzr 400 for my g/f from lincoln, so that should be a nice trip up there.

Talk to you later.

Phil

Probably best not to mention that you continued riding it when it was in that state.

Sounds like it is fucked to me. Unlucky. Don't take any shit off the dealers!

Sounds like the bike must have been running lean as hell then seized one cylinder. That or bocked an oilway, burned out a valve seat or something fairly major like that.

Try to hold out for a new engine rather than letting them repair it . If you only bought it new in November, you would have a good case for rejecting the bike as unfit for purpose and demanding your money back or a new one.
