It's another GPZ 500S project Very Happy

Saved this one from an early demise. It's a late 2000 model and came with assorted parts, including the wheels, forks and swing arm all of which are in very good condition. The frame has the usual surface rust as you can see from the photo. So this is my next project for the next twelve months.

The right hand downtube is off as I'm using it for paint prep purposes. Could do with some suggestions for a good quality gloss black rattle can paint though...

Exclamation Did check the frame over thoroughly but will recheck with gauge. Ever tried to hoist one of these frames up on your garage support beams by yourself with rope and tie it up? Shocked Let's just say the frame isn't quite hanging straight or level!

Checked the history today - Not written off, no insurance claims against it and has evidence of the MOT history for the past 10 years. Last owner was selling it as spares because the engine was goosed (not crashed because the fairing, panels and tank etc were all fine. He had simply bought another bike. The "bike" - as it now is - still has an MOT until June.

Have stripped the frame right down, swing arm is off and the rear shock, so will double check the frame. In the meantime the project continues apace with replacement parts on order and the swing arm will be refurbed in the coming week or so. Smile
