Finally managed to get out on the bike for a decent length ride this morning. Nice 'n early so little traffic.

Started by doing laps around the local area then started going further afield.

Managed to stall at a few junctions. Almost went up on the curb on a right turn across a junction. I think I was a little nervous as there was traffic, bit heavy on the gas and all I could see was the approaching curb. Its so true what they say about turning, i.e. you turn where you are looking.

Found out what powerband is all about a few times when this sudden boost of power came from nowhere. Managed to blow away a few cars at some lights (safely of course).

Lost my front L plate at some point.

Realised one reason for wearing trousers as my legs were freezing.

All in all pretty exhilirating!

Time for a lie down now though I think.

Smile

You were riding in just your pants? Shocked

Thumbs Up Cool post. Made me remember the sense of achievement combined with utter coldness I used to get when I started riding.

Same here. Sounds like all the little mistakes you made were the usual newbie mistakes (and always will be newbie mistakes).

But staying near home and slowly venturing further is the right thing to do. (I had to go to work an hour after getting my CBT. 42 mile round trip. Sh1tting myself Laughing )

Strange when that voice isn't in your ear telling you what to do, isn't it.

I too 'lost' my front L plate after about 6 months (maybe more) of riding.

Nice post, dude. Thumbs Up

I had a fun day today as well! I was sat at home bored with beautiful sunshine outside, my Dad suggested taking me into the country and let me have a blast on a long straight on a country lane, there was no traffic, but it is illegal, but we thought it was safe so it would do no harm.

Took off, and was at 60 in less than 20 seconds, I have never used gears before but I picked them up instantly, The adrenaline was flowing very much so and I loved it, hearing the roar of the inline 4 600 was just amazing.

Can't wait to take my test now. Thumbs Up Very Happy

I've been out twice today. Once at about 9 o'clock this morning but I came back after 20 minutes 'cos my little handies were cold Embarassed

Just got back from my second venture out this afternoon. Did about 100 miles (that's no mean feat on an SR125 as my arse will testify!). Had to come back because the sun was too bright and I couln't see where I was going anymore!

Thank god the weather finally seems to be geting a bit better. Thumbs Up

Cheers matey.

Once I get a bit more power it'll be even more fun. I had two pricks driving right up my arse (so to speak) this afternoon and I didn't have enough speed to leave them trailing in my wake. So I have to get my amusement by riding at 20mph and not letting them past. Very Happy

3 weeks and 6 days to my test Shocked (and I'm still pretty crap at slow speed stuff).

I will if you bring it up here. There's no way I would do the old Newcastle to Northallerton run on an SR. only a madman would do that *snigger* Razz

Actually, the guy who I had my lesson with says that when I pass I can borrow one of the schools ER's for a goof around to see if I like them.
