Fixing gore tex waterproof plastic zipper thingy?

Hello guys,

I wonder if somebody can help me here. It is about my textile Dainese Lontan pants.

It has calf venting plactic zippers on both legs. And both refuse to close. I am not even sure it is called a zipper, because it is plastic no theeth and a slider. I pull it up and the vents still stay open.

It was supposed to be waterproof Rolling Eyes

And they use the same thingy in all gore tex textiles.

Any advice how to fix it?

Great thank you.

Any idea is the principle the same as regular zipper? I mean when regular zip stops closing you just press the slider with a pliers and fix it. Shall I try the same with this one?

Scratch that the pants are in warranty I need to call the support Very Happy

Likely not a warranty. Have you ever used silicone lube on them? if not they tend to get damaged.

A warranty is for a defect not damage caused by you.

Exactly as per Sickpup. Get some silicone spray on a cloth and wipe the seals down. They stick and grab if they dry out. I have a silicone "pen" which is like a big marker pen with a felt tip that applies silicone directly onto the closure, but have read others use spray on a cloth.
