Hi,
I'm about to buy a 2004 fz6n. The rice is good and in good condition for the age but I am a bit worried about the rear schock. Can you guys tell me how bad it is and if it is possible to put it back in good condition? It's not leaking...

Thanks!

I'll try to upload a pic later today but it's got some parts where the schock protection peaked off and has a bit of rust in those spots. There's no leaks though.

What do you mean by schock protection?

if a rebuild is £100, consider looking at aftermarket shocks IMO.

Not that many plastics parts on a shock. Do you mean the paint on the spring or somewhere else?

The paint on the spring. it's a thick "rubbery" paint that's what I meant by plastic paint.

It's powder coat.

You can just change the spring. If your damping is ok this will be cheaper.

It will still feel like a seesaw if you get it refurbished because it's a shit budget shock to start with.

Buy a Nitron if you intend on keeping the bike.

Its a fzr and not worth keeping. There looks nothing wrong with the shock. Oil the spring with a rag to prevent any further cosmetic rust. How many miles? my cbr6 is on 83k, original shock, ride perfectly.

Save your monies for welding the sprocket nut, cylinder liner and handlebar clamps Thumbs Up Unless it is under 800 quid there are better bikes.
