I know people have many times started these Bullshit what bikes do you wanna have a go on most threads, but what are you most curious about that you've never ridden?

For me, there's plenty of old classics I'd like to ride maybe even own, but watching the TT build up got me thinking about more modern stuff: Shocked

BMW S1000RR. I think it was the first 200bhp litre bike, and it's been pretty successful I suppose sales wise and on the track?

I kind of think though I feel impotent about modern sports bikes, I think I'd like just one go on this bike before I die just to see what they were about, and how much of a revelation or not it is to ride?

Im stuck happily in a world of history and nostalgia. And in that world it states, that the Fireblade was the world changing event of my time, and the first R1 and maybe GSXR 1000 the only significant leaps forward for mankind.

I was a 4-5year old kid when in the beginning the radical liquid cooled GPZ900R re-wrote the rulebook for big fast bikes, so that one kind of past me by.

So what bikes do people want to try that they think changed their world or would do today if they rode them?

I'd go for BMW GS1100

- really common now (long way round influence?) but never been on something that heavy & tall and interested to see how it rides when you're not touring Europe with support vehicles...

Or even a fully decked out Goldwing..l Would I catch a long distance touring bug?

I'd like to try an Ariel Square Four or a Douglas Dragonfly out of the old stuff.
From the modern era, possibly an early Goldwing or one of the V four Aprillia's.

Triumph Rocket III - it's such a ludicrous machine I'd love to see how it rides.
Modern Goldwing - see what my Pan's big brother is like for two up touring.
Royal Enfield - feel like I'm missing out by not having tried one yet.

Kawasaki Versys. I love the look, it's not impossible for me to be able to own one (once the nursery fees stop having to be paid) but I've never had the opportunity to ride one. If it rides half as good as it looks, I'll be smitten.

Same with the BMW CS 650F. Though I'd be reluctant to buy one because they're not very popular (parts and servicing might be too expensive to justify.)

I'd love to have a go on a Goldwing too.

MV Augusta Brutale.

Bought a bike off a chap who had one in his collection, he said he wanted to get rid of it because it was just trying to kill him. Wouldn't let me have a go though, pff.

Lots of 2-strokes and smaller capacity bikes/grey imports, which are now too rare and expensive to realistically own. TDR250, SDR200, GSX250FX, XR400M* to name a few (I have a long list Embarassed). Would also like to have a go on a Husqvarna 570 SMR, but I'm fairly certain those vibrations, kickstart and lack of a key would make it a horrible bike to own.

*never seen one in the UK so it would be an import job.

In all the years I've ridden offroad I've never ridden a 500cc smoker. CR500 or KX500 would do fine.

I'd love to try any 2 stroke triple, such as the original Kawasaki H2. Only ridden single cylinder 2T's before, are those extra cylinders and cc's going to make it the experience I imagine it would be?

Also I'd love to try a Blackbird, I was 13 when they first came out and of course at that age and being the bike it is, I've loved them ever since. I know well what I like in bikes and to be honest I know there's a lot in the Blackbirds I probably wouldn't be keen on. But everyone wants to ride their teenage dream right?

Another vote for a Rocket III here too Thumbs Up

I am another vote for trying the rocket III tbh, but I would also like to try a decent electric bike to how it rides and sounds.

Also, a monkey bike, for the lol's.

Assuming I could ride sportsbikes without back and wrist pain and my hands going numb then there's loads of bikes from a Ducati super leggera through MVs, Kawa H2R and onto some 2-stroke weapons.
But as that's impossible, I guess I'll stick with
1) Vincent Black Shadow
2) Norton Commando 750
3) Indian Scout
4) Ducati Diavel

For me, either foggy's 916 or barrys 500.

And I'm not talking about the "race rep" versions you buy from a dealer, I'm talking about the bone fide, full on, undiluted, race version.

Anyone with 20 grand can buy a 916 or rg500, but I'd love to have a go on a proper racer owned by the men themselves .......

Then you can have it straight back, because they'd be a pig to maintain properly and I'd $hit myself anytime I went near them with a spanner ..........

If you also imagine it wanting to tie itself in knots and the brakes being to all intents and purposes non-existent as it hurls you at the next bend, then yes. Be sure to take out life insurance.

KTM 1290SDR is still top of my list, though I don't want to own one. Just see what the fuss is/was about.
That's it. That's it?! What happened to me? Confused

Being a power junkie I would like to try (own Praying) the H2, realistically that's out of reach without lotto money so for me my final power upgrade after teh gixxer tho will be a 1000rr.

Granted I can ride my ZX6 round the lanes as fast as my Gsxr, but there's always niggling little questions in the back of my mind "I wonder what that 200bhp bike feels like to ride?", "I wonder what a turbo on a gixxer thou will be like?"

Powa addiction will probably wear off as I age but that's my choice for now, oh and a Ducati because I've never ridden a big twin sport bike.

The Benelli 750 Sei.

To see if is as beautifully smooth as a CBX1000 and just to admire myself in shop windows as I rode by. Cool

When I was a lad, there was a chap lived round the corner from me had a 900 Sei in black and red, with a little Le Mans Mk1-style flyscreen and clip-ons. A beautiful, beautiful thing, with six stacked, open pipes. My god, what a glorious sound!
