The discs on the ZX-7R need replacing, they are looking a bit thin and also give off a pulsing squeal sound when braking so i guess one of them is warped. This is the first time i have ever had to replace them on a bike so am a bit of a clueless noob. Laughing

Also gonna replace the standard hoses with HEL braided steel ones.

1 - Are discs side specific or do you just order 2 as they are the same both sides?.

2 - I usually buy my consumables from Wemoto. They have EBC discs at £149 each,Kyoto Wavy at £134 each,or generic pattern at £109 each. Are the prices about average,or does anyone know a cheaper website?.I want a quality brand, not some cheap old Chinese copy as i am pretty fussy about bike products regarding my safety when riding.

Cheers Thumbs Up

From fowlers Brand new OEM ones are £151+Vat ea.*

I'd stick with them personally.

I got 70,000 miles out of my Original TDM900 Front Discs, seemed false economy to consider anything else.

*They are back order but I only usually wait a week for Fowlers back order stuff.

Discs CAN be handed or universal. Depends on the disc and the bike.

That's what i was wondering as the EBC discs on Wemoto are listed as left and right but the other two brands are not.So i assume they are universal and you just order 2 of them?.

I'd expect so.

But equally that could be flat wrong and the online ordering system is just bad. I've seen sites that listed discs for a bike and didn't even specify of they were front or rear.

On the plus side, if they fuck up, they can always be returned.

Or, and I know this may sound weird, you could phone them and ask.

ZX6R of late 90's vintage are not handed but EBC list them as left and right.

I just bought a set of discs for the ZX12 - EBC X Series.
MD4022X which is exactly the same disc as on the ZX7. They are not handed so just order two and it's pretty obvious which way they go on.

£124.96 each from JJC Race & Rally on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EBC-X-Series-Front-Brake-Disc-For-Kawasaki-2000-ZX7R-P5-MD4022X-/400406334208

I've used them a lot in the past. Quick delivery and if you want info just call them, they are pretty good usually with info.
