Hi guys,

I have a K4 Bandit, 2005 registered. She's broken in, got almost 2k miles done on her and I am ready to double my power Twisted Evil ! It's a factory restricted model as in it came with the 33bhp limit. How do I go about removing this and is it costly? I've been sent mixed opinions on this, that i need to change something in the carbs/need to change the carbs themselves/it can't be done on the factory restricted models?

Thanks for your help,

Joey

No idea about the factory restricted ones. Get the carbs and exhaust off and look for restrictors, if you don't know what you're looking for get the carbs and exhaust off and take lots of pictures for us.

Could also be throttle stops in the carbs on attached at one end of the throttle cable, or a restricted CDI.

I have a GS500 that was restricted from new by a suzuki dealer and they gave me 2 black plastic units ( I think they are from the carbs ) which I have to bring back to them when I want to return the bike back full bhp

Thumbs Up

Are the black plastic things round with a hole through the middle and a bit flexible?

Could be restricted carb rubbers. If so you could drill them out to full bore (potentially messy) or fit new normal ones (better idea).

Ask 'Jon B' he's got a factory restricted Bandit 6 and knows how it's done.

I think he said it's different carb tops, either way he knows how it's done and should be able to help you.
