Hi all I've purchased an srad600 for £250 obviously needs some work but a nice project. Now I'm wondering before i start is it worth getting the owners manual. I've just purchased the haynes manual is it worth having them both ____________________ CB125>CG125>GN125>ER5>K100RS>R1100RS>K100RS

Needs as followed;
(£250-300) Both tyres
(£150ish) Clutch looking at (very hard)
(£????) Indicators looking at (one flashes on either side)
(£150) Chain and sprocket
(£20* ) Fork seal
(£20) Oil
(£60) Brake pads
(£20) Spark plugs
(£20) Fresh fuel.
All rough approximations, B-U-T, there is around, what, £600 worth of known service spares to tackle just those things you have noted as obviously needing attention; likely 3 or 4 times what you have paid for the bike, to make it properly road-able, and MOT worthy even if there genuinely are no major horrors lurking in there.... and the * Fork seal is an imediete alarm bell on a USD fork bike, that is NOT something easily DIY able like a conventional fork, and usually needs a specialist to strip.... THAT potentially could be a £300 pro-job, on its own....
But hey ho... what you are telling us is that you have bought a 'project-bike' that even if you can fix t up, will almost certainly cost you more than it is worth to do so, which... you probably cant even ride if done, because of your health issues, even before you smashed your legs in the last off, and were told you should not be riding by the quacks.. that you don't have a licence for... and cant 'blag' as restricted, 'cos original brochure specs are outside those that may be restricted for A2....
And you want to know whether we think buying an owners manual might be a good idea?!?
Did you bump your head REALLY hard in that last off Sammy? I think here may be a FEW slightly more important issues to consider here! But hey! If having the owners manual now you own the bike, helps you feel more complete.. carry on... it surely cant hurt much in the greater scheme of stuff! ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!

I love how triggering Smiler's bike and life choices are. DILLHGAF? ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

I was on my phone last night so couldn't post any images not easily anyway. Save moving the bike I've only taken then from one side at the moment. The clocks on it are original by the way and trevor it has 3 other owners previous to me.
I purcashed it as it was my friends that I saw him using every day until he replaced it with a cheap 125 to commute on. Then it was left in the garden.
Teflon mike some of your figures are stupid by the way from ebay for example; the chain and sprocket will cost £80 not £150. The clutch cable is hard to pull in by my standards it does go in gear though and does turn over I know because my friend used the engine power to get it on the trailer.
Purchased the bike for a project and to try and test see how a sport bike would be on my wrist. Don't care about neat plastics heck look at my other bike. So far it's pretty comfy and feels nice; did ride it last year when my friend was using it daily on a private road.
