Hi Guys

Without removing the wheels / forks what is the best solution for removing small rust spots?

Cheers

Give it a try and see if it works, will cost you nothing to try.

If it's just surface rust (as opposed to actual pitting) I've had luck in the past with 1cm folded squares of tinfoil dipped in water to polish it out. It takes a while though.

Tin foil and vinegar, heretics. Mad

Scrunch loosely rather than folding - it'll quickly get flattened down anyway. Any surface corrosion will come right off and anything exposed will be do-oxidised. It'll also cut through any grease on it as well. So shiny.

Rinse it off thoroughly.

Thinking I don't have any vinegar, but I can "obtain" some glacial acetic acid.... 6% vs 70%, overkill or supa-cleana?

I am very glad to have a painted exhaust now! Only the stanchions require this sort of nonsense now

I know a guy who knows a guy who might be able to get you some if you don't ask too many questions. PM for more details.
