Im curious to know where my old CBR300 went to, my neighbour brought my bike up in a conversation with the Honda dealership while he was having a look round and said the salesman laughed and said they sold it right after the crank repair, this seems odd as it still doesnt show as taxed online and their cached google advert says it has 3456 miles on it, when I got rid it was just shy of 9000 miles, is there any way of locating it, reg is PF15 XCW.
Thanks

It's not insured either, and not written off.

Exported, perhaps, I have no idea if that shows up online. What I'm suspecting is that a significant number of bikes that are being returned to dealers for whatever reason, mostly PCP, are being snapped up by Nardo and thrown in the back of a truck to Elbonia.

Never thought of export, although bike wasnt on PCP if that matters, I like to own what I buy, it was just curiosity really and to see if the speedo reading was a "mistake".

Not really, I just mentioned PCP as we've been wondering why there apparently isn't a big glut of 3 year old handed-back bikes queued out the door at dealers.

It's purely a theory, I haven't google-fu'd any figures for it.

I think there are a few showing up now, but I get the (unsubstantiated) feeling that PCP on bikes hasn't really taken off the same way it did with cars. PCP with a £5k ish deposit and low monthly payments makes a £40k motor seem like a bargain. Maybe bike prices are mostly low enough for people not to bother.

Not my experience. Take a look around any popular bike meet, every bloody thing is new! If anyone is making a fortune out of this its BMW and Triumph, falling over all their damn trailies. Unless people HAVE got upwards of 11 grand to spunk on a Sunday polisher? (BTW, north west England, not exactly a financial hot spot!)

Wondered myself why there isn't a mountain of used 1200GS's outside every BMW dealer.

That one's easy - they all be broken down. Try looking round the back.
