These people do nothing for me.
Bike stolen before - everything handed to them on a plate. Nothing. Their database was such a mess when a vehicle recovery company found it two weeks after stolen I wasn't informed and it wAs only a month after found when I went to collect post in passing uni parcel room on my way to appointment I realised it was found.

Driver hit and run- pulled out from bishopgate street when I was driving down Broad street. Famous street in the city where all the clubs are. I knocked off a bit of panelling on the side of his car. He looked at me bleeding on the floor and he drove off. There is two camera right at incident which would have caught reg. police didn't want to know saying need two lines of enquiry and I had no witnesses.

Why should I pay. They do nothing for me these people. A guy I know say s he simply ignores these for the past few years stuff like tickets and being in bus lanes. Nothing happened to him.
What's the worst that can happen if I ignore them and also ignore the summons.

Generally when these things are ignored, the goverment just cross's you off their christmas card list, and you don't ever get to vote in the united kingdom again. no brainer simples really.

Just appeal it, best case you'll pay a smaller fine and get 3 points. Worst case pay the fine, take the points and ride more sensibly in the future.
