Following on from another thread, has anyone seen/got their knee down on an unlikely bike.

I've been told about someone who could do it o a cg125, anyone managed it on an er-5, gpz, zzr? something along those lines?

Anyone ever ever touched down on a pan?

It is possible to get knee down on pretty much all bikes, just depends how... might mean a lot of lean angle or a lot of hanging off etc, but it's possible.

I doubt the people who own the bike who gave it to him to test love it however. Laughing

Does anyone else think that picture looks like the bike is totally stationary, just leaning on the cylinder heads and there is someone hiding behind it with an angle grinder?

Yes, and they are also moving the backgound quickly past the bike in order to make it all blurry.
See?

There's a fair few people on here who got their knee down on the cg and sr.

The great thing about these bikes is the pegs hit the ground very quickly which would cause the rear wheel to lift slightly...crack on the throttle and you'd be doing power-slides Mr. Green

Pic attached of my old GS500 knee-down stylee'

I'm officially impressed, doesn't make the XJ seem quite such a mission.

Sorry to drag up an old thread.

Today Paulodd and I hit the local roundabout, he scraped a peg, I managed to scape a toe, even though I had my toes on the pegs Shocked Scared the shit outta me.

Apologies for poor pic quality, but you can see I'm close.

I got my knee down on my ped... then my arm, head, shoulders, and the rest of my body as I bounced down the road after it Laughing

I have managed to scuff the lowest fairings by leaning it over too much on a reverse cant hairpin bend Rolling Eyes . Amazingly, I managed to keep the wheels on the road, but I was shaking for the rest of the journey and taking corners at about 15mph Wink

Providing you've got long enough legs and the bike's got sticky enough tyres, it shouldn't be a problem on most bikes.

On my DR with road-trail tyres, it wasn't a problem, nor danny's old GPZ: one of those lovely anti tart moments. I had been testing the brakes (well wet sponges that were used to slow the bike down Razz), we were stopped off a roundabout and there was some bloke on a Ducati 996 which we were told had a 998 engine in it (this made even better apparantly).
The rider wasn't quite over far enough to get his knee down and wasn't massively amused when I joined in on the Ratty GPZ, going a bit faster and getting my knee down with relative ease Smile.

There's always a ducati!

As I pulled up today with a guy I know off another forum he was chatting to a guy on a ducati 750SS who'd just got his KD for the first time.

This made me even more deturmined.

I'm nearly there, it'll happen soon. My rear tyre did come free on a £10 wheel off ebay though...and is decidedly square.

For moped racing I believe they often put a bar in that big, errr, 'hole' in the middle of the bike; so that they have something for their inner leg to rest against.
