Hello

I recently did some other work and put new tires on my CG125 1979, changed the handlebars and took off the front fork and reinstalled it. and it sat without a full reservoir of oil for a few months (!) when i got the tires and handlebars back on, the clutch was stuck engaged. I was able to disengage it but now there is some rumbling from the lower part of the bike, I dont know

1) if i have misaligned the tires. ( i dont think so I have measured the distance

2) i have put the front end together wrong and/or there are problems with the bearings/bushings

3) if i have damaged a part of the clutch (possibly the release bearing)

4) maybe something else happening?

when i am rolling down the road if i squeeze the clutch its pretty quite, there is alot of vibration when under load, and at different revs of rpm.

Q: Could i drain the oil out take off the case and have a look at the clutch and see if there is a problem. what should i look for? Would it be neccessary (advisable) to take off the plates and have a look at the whole mechanism?

Thanks so much

Thanks MCN , I know that website. I was just wandering if someone wanted to chime in RE the vibration and rumbling, and if it was worth it for a novice to dive into the clutch and have a look, or if it might be something else.

for info this is my front sprocket, should it have this much side to side play? i think so ?

i opened the crankcase cover and checked the clutch, the clutch release bearing didnt look super messed up, but i didnt have the tool to take off the centrifugal filter and then the plates, maybe its worth giving that a shot?

thanks bcf family

I know what is fucked.

It's shot in Portrait Mode...

Careful. The BCF Ban Hammer may be swinging for that soon (I hope)

Very Happy Very Happy

No idea on the shaft end play. I would need to read a specifications book. It doesn't look 'Perfect' but it may not be the issue.

The vibrations are only present when the clutch is engaged, so i am thinking it is from the lower part of the motor, i just dont know if it could be other pieces that are messed up.
