I know the feeling, I love riding my bike but the fact that other family members ride bikes scares the hell out of me. Well done to him though.

Paul and I shall take it apon ourselves to bring him down to our standard.

Good on him, and I'm sure we'll be out for a ride with him soon. (Is he coming on the essex bikers ride?)

Tell him well done from me too!!!

I only noticed this thread from the name "andy" and immediately thought of his test. Excellent.

Has he been out on the bike yet? How is he finding it?

Yep, he took it out last night, insurance broker/company have been a pain. So we ditched them and went elsewhere, TPFT cover online £677 with three points.

He loved it, didn't go far but came back with a big grin on his face, he is working today, so as he had an early 7.00am, start I thought it better he was taken by car than getting up, running late (as usual) and being flustered and then getting on the ER5, but he finishes at 4pm, so he can get out then.

Depends on if I am being a tit or not.

160ish miles if I am sensible....

...120 miles if I am a tit.

I get about 130 miles to a tank.

When I had my ER-5, I once got 105 miles to £5 worth of petrol, though that was taking it mega easy.

I used to get about IIRC, 140 miles to a tankful, though it is a long time since I owned one, nearly 4 years ago this november since I sold mine. Confused

Hi richard.

Most I have squeezed out of it was 178.8miles before having to switch to reserve. That was 61.8mpg. That was mostly motorway miles I have to say, going from 75 to 100 at one point. Apparently the consumption increases at 80mph quite a bit. Thumbs Down

Still, more than most bigger cc bikes so I'm relatively happy.
