I've got a simple question but I doubt there is going to be an answer that I like. Basically I do about 20k steps at work in the warehouse at the moment. Now we have to wear black trousers and I'm currently commuting in plain work trousers.

As the weather is getting worse I was wondering if anyone has found any trousers that one can be comfortable for a lot of working and two that are safeish in an off on the bike (fail to plan, prepare to fail).

When i have to make site visit on the bike, i wear a pair of Roadskin black cargo jeans.

Theres also Hood black cargos...

Or as above Bullit jeans, but i find bullit have logos stitched on etc..

Roadskin or Hood are plain and professional...

Waterproof bike trousers no good? Wear them over work trousers, take them off when you get to work...

Cheers for the replies there are no available lockers currently and we aren't allowed to wear jeans in the workplace. Regarding over trousers I wear some thin waterproof but they have no protection at all. After a long shift taking shoes off can be a bit of pain.

I'd personally echo the above suggestion regarding overtrousers.

Somethings like the A* Andes trousers are waterproof, protective and have an inner lining thing for when it's cold. They also have a gusset thing at the end of the leg so they slp on over boots fine. Slip over your normal trousers and slip off when you arrive. Chuck in you lunch room or wherever with your lid.

I've tried wearing protective jeans in the office and it's fine for a desk job, but if you need to move about much you'll melt.

In fairness though, just wearing the work trousers is still most convenient. Word of warning though. I fell off like a twat last week in my dickies 'blues' work trousers and they're about as good in a crash as tissue paper.

My top half was virtually unharmed due to textile jacket, whilst my legs are basically one big scabby swollen mess.

Trust me, really not worth it and I'm wearing my overtrousers to commute in the future...

Those pallets must be very judgemental.

Given the cost of bike trousers, I wouldn't want to use them for that much walking (crotch wear). I'd be changing into a pair of Primark sweatshop specials when I arrived at work, or arrive wearing them under cordura bike trousers.

Helmet and gloves are stored in a friends car (he varies on time), Rogerborg I don't do pallets anymore and haven't done since June. Them kevlar work trousers seem like the best bet at the moment so thanks for the link grr666 think I'll go with them. Not planning on using the bike for much longer to commute on so over waterproof trousers will keep working in the rain.

I can get mine on over my boots, only need to take boots off to take them off.
