I'd love to have a 33bhp 500.

I took my motorcycle theory test when i was 17, passed my car driving test within 3 months of starting then kinda delayed taking the practical as i went and splashed my cash on a car.

What the hell was i thinking?

Luckily i have a few months before my theory expires!

Test here i come Very Happy

20, 21 in June, and you know my plight atm. 4t 125 slowness. It sounds better than a tinny 2t of course though.

With any luck, I'll be doing DAS this summer and moving up with all haste, though I'm not going to sell my 125 in a hurry. (It uses no petrol, is unbreakable, and won't be worth a lot anyway.)

I first learn how to ride at 15, got a 50cc geared bike at 16, 125cc at 17. Sold it at 18.
Then bought 2 Saxo VTRs.

I'm fairly competant with driving / riding. Had a 125 cc before, just was a DT125R (derestricted).

CC has f*ck all to do with your age. It's about what you are comfortable riding. If you think to can handle more then do DAS. If not, 125 until your more confident.

I can't do the Direct Access until i'm 21 though.

It's not the fact i can't handle more power, i'm not so confident i could pass my test (heard it's hard) after a year without touching a bike (- 2 weeks on holiday in summer - 250 Yammy trailie was good wheelie madness fun)

My plan is:

Buy an RS125, take 2 weeks after i've got it so i can brush up on a few things.

Then perhaps go for a 400 later this year.

I started on a 50CC ped now im 18 and have moved onto a 125.

I wouldn't like to move on to bigger bike as i will probably crash and regret spending alot of dosh on a bigger bike + insurance, then pay more.

Whereas my dt can take crashes and have cheap parts.

i had a 250 when iwas 17 was allowed then so inever took a test now i,m 39 and bought 4 125,s i dont see a problem with having a 125 its a bike and as long as its used in the biker spirit thats all that matters.

Thumbs Up

I am 24 and ride a 125. Didn't really think about my age when I got it more about what I would be comfortable with. I think if I had bought a bigger bike I would have proabably come to harm by now.

Hi

Still got some 125s, and I am 36.

Nice thing about them is that you can thrash the absolute nuts off them without actually going too fast.

All the best

I am 27 and recently bought a 100cc bike. I ride this from choice on occasion, they are fun Cool

Just like I used to ride a 1968 honda pedal and go moped in Edinburgh, despite having a GPZ500s parked down the road.

I'm 17 (18 come St Paddy's day) and i'm loving every minute on my XR. 125's are fun tools but once you've run out of ponies, fun's over.
