Car phone holders

Looking for a new phone holder for my phone when in the car. The old one doesn't fit new phone so looking for a recommendation.

Don't really like the suction types. I'e had a TomTom Go fling about far to often to want to try that again.

Don't mind the vent ones too much not sure if those magnetic ones are phone friendly enough.

So, suggestions? Bonus points if it's got some cable management.

Belkin vent mount. I use them in the Golf and Alhambra, works well with iPhone 5 and 6plus.

I have a magnetic one that came with a phone case. It works well, although the vents on my beemer don't work that well with it, as it slips off the lower vanes bending the thin upper vanes.

If it's mounted properly it works perfectly.

I've used loads over the years, vent mount ones can be a pain and i have to shut the vent off or cook the phone when the heaters blasting, best one I've used and currently using is a Samsung suction mount one about £20,works perfectly and unobtrusive if placed on the right side low down.
Can also be purchased with a built in charging dock but more expensive.

The best I've used is a RAM X-Grip - like this.

The suction cup doesn't let go, the grip is firm enough that you can use it on a bike (if you didn't care about the phone getting wet). It'll fit just about any phone too. It'll happily take my 5.5" phone complete with its fairly bulky wallet-style case full of cards, and is nowhere near full capacity.

I got through a lot of cheaper mounts before biting the bullet, now I've got three of these (one in each car, one as a spare for when I have a hire car without sat nav).

Just throwing it out there, I tried a suction cup thingy and didn't get on with it. Solution; a small piece of foam where the clocks are, keeps the phone upright (I have it covering the rev counter). Bonus is that I look like a responsible motorist checking my speed, rather than trying to work out where the fook I'm going.

I bought magnet type last month.(suction type ...)
Easy to attach/detach but if I crash my car, phone will fly somewhere and break. So I won't be able to make any call after accident. Buying magnet type with only one phone is a bit risky imo.

I got one that fits in the CD player slot (I never use CDs anymore). It's been totally reliable - doesn't wobble much, phone doesn't fall out even if I've not really tightened up the arms.

Don't trust magnetic ones not to mess the phone up (complicated electrics and strong magnets? No thanks) and I like my air vents to actually be venting air for me. And I liked the product name

Brodit and a car specific vent mount, or a Dashmount car specific not cheap, but will last for years, I got a passive tilt and swivel for my phone(although it is adjustable) and a Dashmount bracket, I didn't want phone mounted on vent, just get a new kit when you change car, if you get a new phone then just make sure it still fits in the adjustable holder.

PS you may need to remove some trim to fit car specific mount if you don't want a vent mounted one, but it's not too difficult.
