BMW's attempt to get fuel from the tank to the injection system used a relay controlled affair.
The relays burned out and left the rider hi and dry.
The fix was to make a jumper and drive the pump direct from the battery by-passing the relay.
I think the pump was relay controlled to prevent the pump overheating.
The relay cut in or out depending what fuel pressure is sensed.
So I would guess your cube pump could still use a relay/pressure sensor to stop the pump when it is up to pressure.
Or fit a bypass/regulator valve in the line. (Bugger that.)
