 |
|
My mates got a dog of a Bandit 1200, which was pissing fuel from the over flows on the carbs
when i say the overflows......they were actually missing, an the fuel was pouring over the cases i have replaced these now
So, i have replaced the float valves. The old ones were knackered. Gave the carbs a bit of a clean with carb cleaner (jets out etc)
put it all back together an now it runs but its shooting flames out the exhaust - like its on an after burner or something
im guessing this means its over fuelling?
any thoughts?
floats too low/ high?
bad plugs? |

!200 Bandits with a standard exhaust, air filter etc are pretty restricted. Fit an aftermarket exhaust, even a fairly tame one and they pop and bang like bastards on the overrun with an even less restrictive exhaust like the stubbied Hawke GP can I have for mine and they'll spit flame too. Disabling or removing the PAIR system will help a bit (there are blanking plates available on eBay) and you could try adjusting the idle setting - it's underfuelling rather than overfuelling. It's worth a search on the Bandit forum for advice on this.
It's a good noise though |
