Here's the two pieces I'm referring to. https://imgur.com/a/v67G2

Changing the brake pads I put them aside. But then stupidly threw my wash cloth on top of them. Because I didn't see them I forgot to put them back in place.

Are they important? Obviously I will put them back tomorrow but I need the bike in the morning. It's pitch black outside now. Do I need to go back outside with a flashlight and do it now or can it wait a day.

I've tested the brakes and they're working great.

They probably just stop the pads rattling, designs vary a lot, if you have pins through the pads most likely nothing bad will happen used briefly

Brakes keep you from crashing

If they didn't need all the bits they wouldn't put them in

Or would you prefer

They are extra bit don't worry about them

I've done it now. Set up shop in the middle of a garage forecourt where it was nice and bright. Few strange looks.

To be honest now that I've put them back in. I really don't think they make any kinda difference.

They're called anti rattle springs in the Haynes manual. Reckon I could of done without but it's done now so.

They hold the pads in position in some bikes, if they're not there, the pads can get canted over to an angle and jam in place.

On other bikes they simply stop them rattling.

As you obviously know better than Mr, Suzuki what is required and what isn't, how about you take some other bits off and see if they are needed as well? You could end up with a hipster bobber.... or not Laughing

Oh, and quotes...... Rolling Eyes
