Moto cross brush guards inside them is one way.
I presume these are the "soft" type muffs and not the neoprene "boxing glove" type. The latter are pretty rigid anyway and come with a built-in plastic guard to prevent deformation like you're experiencing.
So, I'd recommend the tucano urbano neoprene ones. They aren't "rigid" but they don't pull the levers on. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

I've just recalled the bodge I had to do last year. Cut a piece of wood/plastic/metal long enough to go from the bar centre to just a bit past the front of your lever, drill a hole in one end then bolt it into the bars facing forwards.
It doesn't need to wrap around, just be long enough that the muff can't be pushed backwards on the lever. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Nearly forgot. Rogers ghetto version reminded me.
Motorcycle bar-end lever guards. Available for much cheapness from the chinese online auction retailer of your choice. May interfere with the fitting of the muffs though.

If you're really cheap, move the grips and controls in about 1/2" and fit a pair of MTB bar-ends in a similar way. First saw this done for crash protection on riding school CG125s. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. I paid about £8 last year for a pair of lever guards similar to those to use with my dirt cheap, but warm floppy muffs.
Fitting of the muffs wasn't a problem at all. |

it would be ultra cool if you could pull back on the wooden leaver to rev the engine like a hand throttle.
i get that having it attached to the throttle would defeat the point and fuck up the fitting of muffs.
but still would be ultra cool in a kinda red neck way no ? ____________________ PCX125 (stolen) - CBF600 (current)

My tucarno urbanos have plastic inserts in them that give them loads of shape. Not the neoprene ones, these https://www.tucanourbano.com/gb/polyamide-hand-grip-covers-9268.html
have you lost or never fitted the side inserts? I can trace the shape of mine if you need to replace them. ____________________ Bandit. does. everything. |

i have the neoprene ones so they dont have any inserts.
