Well I have decided to get the GPZ's top fairing repaired since my off last december.

And I am looking around for companies to do it, and seeing as there are non I know of in the North west I have 2 companies in the UK that can do it.

One is FinishLine Motorcycle in Redhill, Surrey and Arnolds Fairings in Kingswinford, Staffs. Both have around the £140 mark for repair.

Has anyone used these or used anyone else for fairing repair? It doesn't matter where in the UK they are as I will get the fairing sent to them.

MRS in ilkeston deal with crash damaged bikes, might be worth asking them if they can or if they know of anywhere?

? Why not have a go yourself?

https://www.bikemedic-kent.co.uk/graphical/plastic%20welding.htm Thumbs Up Thumbs Down Question

Theres been posts about it before in the past, depending on how much of a mess it is you might be ablte to repair with a soldering iron (useing zip ties as spare material) and renforceing the back with fiber glass/body filler? than sand it down and paint over the top... is it cracked or totaly mashed?

I would be able to repair it myself if it were a crack or something with my soldering iron and cable ties but as you can see from this picture there is chunk missing so I think my only option is getting it done professionally.

you could glue/melt in a piece of slightly more flexible plastic then fill it out with resin filler. Then sand it down and paint the section?

Try this guy: https://www.devilpaint.co.uk/

He is my bike instructor and is a really sound guy. I have never used his repair services (only having an SR125 'n' all) but he comes highly recommended on another forum I visit.

Edit: Oh yeah, tell him Chris "DanceLikeAMonkey" sent you. He might give me a discount on my next lesson Wink

Looks like a fibre glass job to me.

So long as you put it on in layers, and have it bulge out futher than neccicary you can sand it down to the correct shape with 60 grit alu-oxide paper. Once its shaped, sand is smooth with 120 grit, prepare it with 400 grit, prime it, sand it with 1500+ then spray it.

The hardest bit is matching the colours etc, but halfauds colour match should help out a little there.

A DIY job won't look 'as new' as it would do if done by a professional, but it will stop it looking like it's been binned and help you sell it.
