Just had a wee 120 mile round trip, meeting up with the Banbury REOC. Bloody cold, but clear roads and sunny for most of it. Route was Northampton -> Towcester -> Brackley -> Middleton Cheney (just outside Banbury), meeting up with 5 others at F2 Motorcycles. We then set off to Chipping Norton, stopping for a coffee and picking up another 4, then off to Broadway via Moreton in Marsh. Stopped and had jacket spud there, where it started to snow Smile

Route back from there was through Chipping Campden and Shipston-on-Stour on the B4035 - lovely road with plenty of twisties, back up to Banbury where I parted company with the others to head up to Daventry on the A361, another nice road, then back to Northampton. The bikes on the run were 7 Enfield Bullets (1 Lightning and 1 trials), an MZ251, a Kwak W650 and a Norton Twin. I did get a couple of piccies on the phone; I'll upload them once the dongle starts to behave Smile

Bike behaved nicely, but has recently started a tendency to slip the clutch when in 4th, apparently a common problem with new Enfields after swapping to a free breathing exhaust and air filter, plus a front sprocket upgrade. New heavier clutch springs are only about 4 quid, so that should cure that. Nothing worse than sitting at 65mph and opening the throttle, to be greeted by higher revs but no change in speed Smile

120 miles on Enfields, hope you had a support truck following. Laughing

I was thinking of having a magnet on a rope trailing behind the bike, so if anything vibrated off it would catch it Smile

I've been back an hour, and my right buttock has regained all feeling, but the left still has ice at the core, methinks. My nutsack is about the size and hardness as a walnut, and about as wrinkled - the testicles are still sheltering up near my spleen somewhere. Did I mention it was cold? Smile

Yeah, yeah, oldest excuse in the world! Laughing

120 miles must have seemed like 10 times that for whichever of you was towing the Norton.

No, only I did the 120 miles; the others were all pretty much Banbury based. It was a competition to see who didn't sit behind the MZ - never have been a fan of 2 stroke fumes Wink It's been a few years since I've done a ride out - must get a lot more in. The sound going through villages with stone walls on each side is jizworthy Smile

Piccies attached. Not apologising for the quality Smile

I fancy the seat from the trials version, it's a "2/3rds Scrambler" according to the catalogue, and is lower than standard, which suits my stumpy legs. Either that, or the Lightning's seat, doing away with the pillion (wife really isn't interested, but she says she is to keep me happy) Smile

The polished bodywork, braced bars and high pipe on the scrambler looks fantastic. Thumbs Up

It sounded as good as it looks. The guy riding it was the quintessential mud plugger - Belstaff jacket and bottoms, covered in mud Smile

Ahhh, bellstaff waxed cotton. The coldest substance known to man, endothermic bike gear.

One day I'll buy one of those 250cc MZ ETZs just to enter the MZ racing series.

I'll die, but it'll be cheap!
