Definitely want to tour more next year, Wales is the only biking holiday I've done. Considering a biking holiday away in the next few months also, one where you just book the flights and turn up with your gear, one in Gran Canaria I've got my eye on.
I pretty much only ride for fun, so probably been out on the bikes 15 - 20 times this year, but very rarely do under ~160 miles in one go, I like to be out for the day. Only done about 800 miles on the DRZ this year, did more than that on the KTM on the Wales trip alone in 3 days Probably did nearer 2000 miles on the KTM. ____________________ KTM 990 SMT & Suzuki DR-Z 400 SM |

Just been reliving my two Euro tours of this year. Rather than post loads of the same pics again, you can see them in my sig., below, if you're so inclined Those are about ticking off loads of bucket-list routes before coming to the point I'm at now, where I don't know when I'll next be able to do anything like it again. I had in mind at the time I was planning those that I'd regret it if I didn't do them, however skint it left me, and I am very glad I did go
Add to those many rides around the Lake District, also available to view elsewhere, that's pretty much been my biking year.
Nice to look through that of others, keep em coming! ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

I didn't really cover many miles this year, or take many pictures other than going to Slovenia this year, so I will try my best for this.
I did a few trips out on the wee beastie around some local roads, this one is a Ide Hill with some lovely scenery in the background.

Summer holiday and time for some more adventure. Last year I rode from Oslo to Prague and then back to the UK by myself over the course of 2 1/2 weeks and really enjoyed it, this year I went with my buddy Deaks and we aimed for Slovenia.
All packed up and ready to go on the train over to France

And we eventually did Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Switzerland and back again. Two parking tickets, one speeding ticket, almost front row at the Austrian MotoGP and a catastrophic breakdown later we arrived back in the UK with one less bike than we started with I can edit this later to say where each photo was taken if anyone wants to know. Imgur is not the best at uploading pics so these are most likely in a really terrible order!

It took over a week to get the bike back from France and then cost me around £1500 for recovery and repairs x2 as I didn't even get to ride it once getting the bike home before it stopped working again.
So this year hasn't bee great as the gixer has had three batteries, two reg/recs. two generators and a set of spark plugs. But apparently it is all fine now! Roll on 2018, this year has been a proper shit. ____________________ Theory test - 19/8/09, CBT - 11/10/09, MOD 1 - 16/8/10, MOD 2 - 27/10/10

Hmm let's see.. Local charity run right at the start of the year, it was really cold. The long suffering CB250 was employed.
https://i.imgur.com/1IQLLOF.jpg
April was a run round and about the south west, culminating in the arrival at Land's End. Again, the poor CB250 took the abuse.

That was a great trip actually, I'd do it again. May was Bikefest in Rugby, a super day. The K100 made it out this time.

Much fixing took place and then the CB250 was used for probably the biggest job in its life - Spain. On top of the D26 in the Pyrenees:

Spain.

2500m high at the top of the Veteta public road on Sierra Nevada. You need special permission to go higher which was annoying, but then the bike already wouldn't tick over at such altitude so maybe it was no bad thing.

This proved to possibly be too much for the old girl, as the frame ended up cracked on both sides. I thought the handling was getting weird!
https://i.imgur.com/e7BgU5b.jpg
On the way back from that trip I also received a text from my mum saying the K100 had been stolen.. Now fixed with a keyless ignition system off ebay, steal it now you light fingered twats!
https://i.imgur.com/AWD9FYc.jpg
The CB was temporarily retired while I wonder if it's too mental to get it welded and put back on the road, and the K100 was simply broken (though recovered) so I needed some wheels that were cheap to run. A quick scan of ebay revealed a Z250SL which I eventually got for a lulzy £750, just the ticket.

National Motorcycle Museum open day in November, well worth the free entry

And then a bit more fixing and some ice happened.

Overall, too much stuff got broken. It seems strangely unsatisfying to look back on.. ____________________ 1994 CB250, 1984 CBX250RS-E, 1989 K100RS, 1995 TRX850, 2016 Z250SL |
