I know this have been ask a lot but I couldn't find anyone in similar situations
Beware wall of text :p
I am not sure to define myself as beginner or what
But no doubt I am not experienced rider
I have my full license about 8 years ago, got myself a 250 single for about a month before I got sent to Hong Kong by my company
I carry on riding in HK start with a Dragstar650 move to a GTS250, sold it for a F650GS(single), swap to Bonneville T100 and finally a VFR800 vtec, as you could see most of them are not very powerful with the exception of VFR
It is also the VFR stop me riding, the power output isn't difficult to master, but the hydraulic clutch + the wet weight + the lack of output below 3000. It have my first accident in my entire bike riding life. A hill start, I alway found it difficult to find the biting point on VFR, I stall and the weight of the bike drag me down
Since that day I never ride again, but now I got a green light from my wife, I am looking at some mid range bike, as 250 isn't very comfortable at cruising. Always love street bike from triumph, used 675 cone right to my mind, and I always dream of having a Guzzi especially Griso
I think choosing the right bike is more than just how much power it give, but more of combinations of seat height, weight distribution, how the power deliver and ergonomic. Despite 675 have near 100hp output, I heard the 675 have a broad range of output and it is very light, and the best thing is the seat height isn't too much trouble for my 29" short leg. Alternatively V7 Cafe classic have much lower output and very strong torque, perfect for someone hate reving like me. However, having own a Alfa 159 before and having a fd who ride Ducati, I must say I don't have much confidence in Italian motor, especially putting the V-twin in transverse I guess it mean ££££ even for a clutch change
Any experience 675(non R) like to share some feedback? |
