Some forks accept bobbins, some will accept pins and some do not. Some headstocks will receive a pin and some don't.

Go to a motorcycle sales warehouse and answer your own questions.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

To say you want to design something you should know what you want to improve upon already. You should also have a thorough knowledge of what the current alternatives are too.

If I was your academic, you'd be on for a solid third with this attempt.

Any engineering project that starts by deciding what to make, then finding a reason to make it is doomed.

Find a problem that needs solving, then engineer a solution. Not the other way round.

I know what the main failure of universal front stands that hold up the yoke is.

It's not the fact that they ggenerally need a rear paddock stand to be secure. It's not the fact that you need many different pins, none of which fit your bike.

But I'm not going to tell you what it is. I'm going to patent it...

Insightful.

OP is asking what new, unique feature they'd have to add to distinguish their item from every other paddock stand out there.

That's invention, not engineering. And the big profit is in the intellectual property, rather than the monkey metal.

You're asking to be given the most valuable part of the process. Do you think that's how it works outside of academia?

tl;dr version - ask the Adam Aaronses.

OP needs to invent one that you can remove the steering head bearing races on.

After that he can make a start on a perpetual motion generator and a visor you can see through when it's raining...

Do some research, show a summary of your research then BCF can still tell you it's crap and give you a negative rating.

Sorry pal but, as someone has said, bikes are all different. Maybe have each of the connection devices on one lockable gog. Rotate to suit. Good luck with your project. It is an interesting one.

Personally the only use of a front padock stand for me was to fit tyre warmers.

Reasons I use a paddock stand:
- To lift the front wheel (durr) useful for changing tyres and general cleaning / maintenance
- makes the bike look snazzy as fuck when it's in the garage

Problems with my paddock stand:
- None, it does its job perfectly.

I forgot what else you needed to know but by now the BCF regulars will have ripped you a new one anyway so it's of little significance.

Happy studenting.
